Family-friendly hotel with a lazy river and outdoor pool

Not far from Broadway at the beach where they have many shops and entertainment. like ripley's aquarium, and many places to go and eat.

I got Head Lice
I thought I was getting a 4 star room but I would say it was 1 or 2 star at best. Even though there were signs saying no pets, there were dogs throughout the hotel. At least one small beetle like bug was found in our bathroom each day and once at home I had gotten head lice; something I managed to avoid for 39 years with long hair. The staff were nice and the location was great, but that is not making up for the lice! My spouse is a commercial pilot, and said that was the worst hotel he has stayed in for a long time...

Go to Villa Romana - Fantastic Italian meal with so much food. You need to pace yourself if you want to save room for dessert :) Everyone LOVED it!

Wonderful Vacation
We were very happy with West Gate. The staff were excellent. We arrived late in the night and when we got there they gave us an upgrade on our room for free. We had a beautiful view of the ocean. Room was clean. We would choose to stay there again.

Dissappointed...
When we checked in at midnight after flying all day, we found out someone was locked out of their room...turned out the someone was unclothed on the balcony facing the street. It turned out this person was was yelling out to anyone passing by on the street, including us, and wouldn't you know, we were put in a room right next to her. When trying to open the door to the room, you had to put your shoulder into to get it open (incredible), seemed all doors on the 6th floor were like this. due to the new carpet so we were told?? Our stay was OK, it was surprising as it seemed to be advertised as a 3-4 star hotel and to me it clearly was not. I typically do not complain about hotels but even the cleaning staff didn't clear the coffee cups, empty the ice bucket and I left a tipped before we left for the day... This was a last minute trip so was glad to get a reservation but would probably look elsewhere for my next trip.

Overall great family vacation
There were 4 of us in the one bedroom deluxe villa. Upon arrival we were placed in a handicap room which meant that the one bathroom in the room had no door separating the master bedroom from the bathroom. We notified the front desk and were moved to a regular room. Other than that mishap the entire trip was great. The hotel had different activities everyday, all day. My family will definitely be returning to Westgate.

great overall, but felt treated like second class citizens. not sure if it was because we booked through an outside agency or beacause we stayed in the cheapest room. i would only recommend this place because of location and price. nothing else special.

The hotel was in great location. really the only complaint I have was it seemed like every day they was one part or another under construction. pool closed some of the time for construction, outside bar area closed part of the time. Room was clean but outdated needed repairs to be done. we had a good time anyway i think we just happen to be there at the wrong time.

Great Time in Myrtle Beach
Waterfront hotel for this price What a deal. Great Location surrounded by really nice resort hotels.Beautiful beach. Staff most friendly. I will do it again!

Perfect family location
Westgate is on the heart of everything, lots of great family things to do, amusement park scross the street was great, parasailing right next to hotel, only downfall is parking for the resort is across ocean blvd kind of tricky sometimes crossing at busy times of day. Overall had a great time would definately stay here again!!!
