Sun N Sand

This was my first time bringing my 2 year to the beach and as soon as we got to our room she saw the huge window over looking the ocean. She would not leave that window. The hotel was very nice and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. My boyfriend and I loved the fact they had a DVD player in the room so we got some food and watched movies half the night. And the view was amazing. I really enjoyed this stay and I will be coming back to this exact hotel in a few months. I certainly cannnot wait!

Excited to visit Myrtle Beach for the first time, we were disappointed to find the hotel to be unlike the pictures advertised the websites. When we checked in, they charged us an additional $7 a day resort fee, which was unaccounted for through the booking process. The first room we were sent to was extremely dirty (dust on the headboard and desk, stains on the desk chair cushion, stains of an unknown nature on the curtains and dirty hand prints on the bathroom walls). The outlets were also exposed, which is a safety hazard! The cable channels were limited and the wifi was slow. From the advertising and our understanding, we were to stay in an ocean front room but that was not the case, we had a nice view of the hotel next door. The room was nothing like advertised on the websites. They offered to "upgrade" us to a different room but could not promise that the cleanliness would be any better. They also have a no refundable cancellation policy. We decided to try it because the money had already been paid upfront. Although the room still was not to the quality of the advertised pictures, the ocean view was spectacular. We decided to stay. They offered us a continental breakfast the first morning only -muffins, danishes, cereal, fruit, yogurt, juice and coffee. The outdoor pool was not heated and the hot tub was broken. The indoor pool was working but not accessible from inside the hotel - access was outside and around the building. The elevators were also under construction and moving very slowly. Housekeeping offered services every morning. The staff was pleasant overall. One night someone pulled the fire alarm at 2:30am so we had to evacuate the hotel and wait for the fire department to confirm that there was no fire. The last night, there were very rowdy guests on our floor. Multiple other guests complained and security was sent up to attend to the situation but the chaos continued until about 4am! It was frustrating that they were unable to control the situation more quickly. We did not allow these things to ruin our trip though. The ocean front rooms are definitely worth the money because you can see and hear the ocean at any time of the day. The beach is a few steps from the hotel. The staff was pleasant and tried to be accommodating despite the multitude of issues. If you are looking for a place to just sleep, this hotel would be okay but there is not much to do inside the hotel. They have a bar and restaurant but that is not necessarily a family-friendly environment. Although it is on the ocean front, it is not in the center of all the attractions. It is a few short driving minutes from several shopping centers, attractions, etc. They also have free parking in their parking garage.

It was nice the staff was nice . The bed was hard , need put a nice chair in the room

RECENT CAR BREAK INS!!!! My husband and I booked 3 nights at the Sun N Sand Resort for Oct 4-Oct 7. In less than 24 hrs after checking in, we got a call from the front desk saying our car was broken into. One of the maintenance staff discovered it and reported it to the front desk. Glass and other non-valuable items were everywhere. The thief had time enough to rummage through every compartment inside the car and get away clean. No real security cameras. Not only was the staff not helpful, but the MB Police Dept wasn’t either. One of the desk clerks nonchalantly pointed out to the cop that there were other break-ins there within the last 2 wks. The staff will not tell you this when you are checking in and parking your car. We packed our things and approached management regarding a refund for the remaining days we’d already paid for– she basically told us they have “strict policies and that they DO not refund for early departure for any reason”. She made sure to remind us of the agreement we signed. Not to mention, on every level of the parking deck they have signs/disclaimers saying they are not responsible for theft or damage to vehicles parked in THEIR parking deck. To add insult to injury, she offered us another vacation there with them as compensation for our trouble. NO THANKS! Word to the wise, DO NOT STAY HERE! Pay a few extra bucks and stay somewhere else or you’re on your own. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Hotel staff was excellent, Room was clean, hotel restaurant and bar was perfect. will be staying again!

The check in is really at 4pm, we arrived earlier , the room wasnt ready, the keys didnt work.. They sent someone o fix it (thank god cause I was getting mad). The room very clean, the pillow very uncomfortable, the bar outside needs a lot of work, looks really old.

This is a nice location and freindly staff.The only improvement that needs to be made. Is the flies around the outside bar.The are all over the liquor,bar,and the fruit.Thats the only bad thing.But the hotel and the staff are very nice.

The place was decent overall, no major problems. The restaurant that looked out to the ocean had several tables of dirty dishes as well as broken glass windows. This could've been a result of customer issues the night before. However, the tables could have been cleared at least. I would stay there again because the things mentioned couldve been rare.

Our stay was very pleasant. We had a beautiful view overlooking the ocean it was great to get up and drink coffee on our balcony. The only complaint is we didn't stay long enough. I will be back here soon.
