Summertree Village........Don't Stay there
This place is a dump!!! When I first arrived at 7 PM I discovered that that check-in was at a different place, not where I was staying. I eventually found the check-in place. The manager complained about my arrival time even though my confirmation papers said that I had a late check-in. The cleaning fee was taxed $12 even though my contract said that there would be no tax on the cleaning fee of $100. Upon arrival at my room the room smelled like dog urine. The smell was throughout the suite, I noticed that quite a few people had dogs staying with them. I'm not a dog person and hate the smell. There were spots every where on the carpets in all of the rooms. You could tell someone had tried to get rid of the urine from the carpet. When I asked the manager about the smell, he said it was the only room left. We stayed the first night, but could not handle the smell beyond the first. The room had fleas as well. The location was great, the beach was only a two-minute walk away from the resort. Don't expect any help about local attractions from the manager. You are on your own. Myrtle Beach has gone downhill over the past three years. Even the beach was not crowded. We had reservations for six nights, but left after one night and rented a hotel for one additional night and left to go to Charleston, which was not part of our plan. This was the worst vacation that we had ever taken. None of the attractions really open until 4 PM. There are a few good restaurants, but those are chain restaurants which we can go to at home. Don't waste your money or time on any Grand Strand Resorts or Myrtle Beach....you'll regret it. It cost me an additional $1000 to stay some where else, but it was necessary to salvage a vacation for the family. You get what you pay for.......you don't pay a lot and you get nothing.

Really excellent getaway!
The condo was impeccably clean, the rental office personnel were very friendly. There were enough linens and utensils. The unit was older so it had larger rooms. The Unit was not as updated as the one in the picture, but was still in good shape. The one we ended up w/ was a few hundred yards from the indoor pool and very close to the outdoor pool (an oasis) which was very good for our 10 year old. The older teenagers liked the walk to a small cluster of shops and entertainment. The beach would be too far away for anyone w/ a physical disability unless they had a motorized cart, however there is parking on the access to the beach (paid). All in all it was a wonderful experience.

Money-saving tip:
In Hotel
Since this was a condo it had a full kitchen. We saved lots of money on dining out and it was way cheaper than renting 2 hotel rooms for all of us.We could then use our money for entertainment. Thanks Orbitz!

More than expected!
The location was but .2 miles from the beach. Not too bad for the price paid; particularly over Memorial Day weekend! The condo was very clean and had ample bath supplies. The screened front/back porches enhanced our time while outside sipping our morning coffees. The pool was nice but the indoor pool was closed for maintenance. No problems.
