Well-rounded family hotel with ocean views and pier access

The appeal of the Springmaid Beach Resort reaches well beyond its six pools and two lazy rivers. The property boasts an on-site mini-golf course, full-fledged summer activities program and the largest oceanfront conference center in Myrtle Beach. For travelers on a budget, the convenience of in-room kitchenettes and kitchens cannot be matched. For a true coastal experience, guests revel in being able to spend the day fishing at nearby Springmaid Pier.

Highlights
  • 500 rooms on Myrtle Beach's famous Grand Strand
  • Six pools and two lazy rivers
  • Access to Springmaid Pier
  • Mini-golf course
  • Summer activities program
Rooms

Guests choose from three towers each with access to the hotel's amenities, which include a lazy river, kids' pool and fountain. Tropical décor brims throughout via palm-inspired artwork and earth tones. Oceanfront balconies are a welcome touch, as are full kitchens or kitchenettes for travelers hoping to reduce eating expenses.

Recreation

Guests enjoy a leisurely ride along a lazy river. Here, visitors splay out on inner tubes on two lazy rivers, while children play in two pools for tots -- one equipped with a "rainmaker." The scene is downright tropical thanks to ocean views and surrounding palm trees.

Families flock to the mini-golf course or Springmaid Pier at the south end of the beach. Didn't bring the gear? An on-site tackle shop has all the necessary supplies.

not so happy

I paid 20 dollars a night extra to say in a building with a elevator, but the building we were given had no elevator in it. 60 dollars wasted. The air-conditioning did not work very well at all. I stayed here thinking I was in a very nice resort, overalli was not impressed.

HAPPY WITH MY CHOICE

My wife and I were trying to find a place on the ocean to spend out honeymoon. We were talking about taking a cruise at first. Then she changed her mind and started talking about Myrtle Beach. We went for 2 nights and it was the best hotel ever. It had the best view and the best location I could have asked for. The only complaint that I have is that it was pretty busy, so my call to the front desk wasn't answered one of the times I called them. Everything else was absolutely astounding.

Great Hotel, Great Location!

We have been to Myrtle many times, and I really liked this hotel. I liked that it was away from the strip, but close enough to walk to. We did not like the food at the on-site resturant, but everything else was great.

Relaxation Central

We stayed at the Palmetto building of Springmaid Beach Resort. It is a short distance from the boardwalk, so less hustle and bustle going on. Perfect to relax after roaming around town. Everything is within 15-20 minutes (or less) of this location. It is very affordable. There is a pier and you are right on the beach. A restaurant with limited hours on site. Lots of pools, even a heated one. I will absolutely be staying here again in the future.

At the beginning of your trip go to Brookgreen Gardens because admission here is for 7 days at $12 per person. Absolutely worth it.

Awesome Vacation

This has by far been one of the most awesome vacations ever. The Springmaid resort was wonderful. Everyone there was super friendly and went out of their way to make sure everything was as we expected. The room was super clean and refreshed and restocked with towels, coffee etc daily. The food at Marlin's and Barnacle's was delicious and a great value. ALL employees were polite and friendly as well as helpful. We didn't request a certain room but couldn't have been placed in one more appropriate - directly above the fishing pier overlooking the beach which pleased my fisherman husband immensely. We are already planning our next trip to Springmaid!!
