Sheraton--Myrtle Beach Convention Center
I chose to stay at this hotel because I was attending an event at the convention center at this Sheraton. I also did not need to rent a car, but could walk or take a taxi to anyplace I wished to go. The room was an ocean view complete with fridge. A microwave was available in the vending area. Room was clean although it is starting to demonstrate its age. My only complaint about this hotel is that you cannot swim in the pool. It is uniformly only about 3 feet deep. Overall, it was a good value and I hope to stay here again the next time I am able to attend concerts at the convention center.

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
Hotel is only 4 blocks from the ocean. Also, Boardwalk at the Beach is 6-8 blocks--a decent walk or a short drive or cab ride. Lots of good restaurants there as well as shops. Interesting place.

Wonderful for young couples & families
Upon arriving at the hotel we were greeted with cheerful eager to assist hotel staff. My fiancé and I received complimentary breakfast for one morning as a gift for it being my fiancés birthday ( we really appreciated that!!). The room was well maintained, the maid service was spot on! and the bed was unbelievably comfortable ( best mattress ever!!). In terms of location to the grand strand and the ocean, we had no complaints as it was a simple 15 min walk. If you needed a taxi they were always available on site. We would highly recommend this hotel to couples and families.

Nice hotel but not on the beach
We picked the nicest hotel in Myrtle beach only to realize this hotel is not on the beach. 5 min drive is not too bad but if you are here for the beach, having to drive and pay $5 / hour for parking isn't too great. However, all the hotels on the beach area are somewhat run-down looking with lots of loud kids. So if you want more clean, quiet hotel w/ lots of amenities (gym and pool), this is the hotel for you. Rooms are very clean, with all the amenities you can think of. Bed sheets and towels were very crisp, and i did not get those damp feeling which you often get from hotels near water.

great hotel, service and staff- a must stay
My boyfriend and I just returned home after spending 7 days and 8 nights at the Sheraton Convention Center in Myrtle Beach, SC. We were a little nervous because we had never been to Myrtle Beach and weren't sure about the location or amenities. Once we got there, we were so pleasantly surprised! The staff was very nice- including the bell hops that not only got us cabs when we needed but also provided us with silverware for our leftovers from outside restaurants. The gift shop worker was very friendly and helpful as well. The only exception to the wonderful staff was one of the bar tenders in the hotel bar. On a particularly slow night, a family of four (two small children around the ages of 3-5) came into the bar and sat at one of the comfy booths in the far corner by a TV. The TV nearest them was not being watched by anyone. When the father of the family came to the bartender asking to change the channel, the bartender was not only short with him, but rude, saying that he didn't want to disturb the rest of the patrons by asking to change the channel. My boyfriend and I were sitting the closest to the TV and overhearing this, made it clear that we didn't mind the channel being changed for his kids. The bartender never did change the channel. He was also short with other customers and let my boyfriend's drink sit empty for at least twenty minutes. By the time he offered another one, we were ready to find a different bar. I have to say that the first bartender we had was not only friendly, but made a very good drink for me and served my boyfriend the beer he asked for right away. It was after this bartender went on break that the other, more rude bartender, began his shift. That being said, our overall experience with the hotel was a great one. We only had a few blocks to walk to the beach on one side and about two or three blocks to Broadway at the Beach on the other. The hotel also offered spa services, however we did not have the opportunity to take advantage of them. The hotel was also very close to the airport and we didn't have to pay much to cab to it. Everything else we did throughout the week, was walked to. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The rooms were luxurious with big comfy beds and a beautiful view. Well worth the cost!

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
There were several restaurants and attractions within walking distance of this hotel- including all those at Broadway at the Beach (Planet Hollywood, Hard Rock Cafe, etc.). One of our favorite restaurants near the hotel was a Hibachi place right around the corner. Definitely would recommend trying it!

good
The hotel staff were very accomodating. The location was only a 5 minute walk to the beach and a 15 minute walk to the broadway. The only thing missing was that the check in could have been a little earlier.
