Perfect Long Weekend
The Sandcastle was everything we'd hoped we'd have for our long weekend in Myrtle Beach. Our oceanfront room provided for plenty of entertainment just by looking out the window! Even though it was the end of January we were able to sit on the balcony and enjoy the warm sunshine. The room was clean and quiet and the hotel location was perfect. It's been 30 years since I've been to Myrtle Beach and now I'm wondering why it took so long to return. I would definitely go back to the Sandcastle.

If you like Maryland style seafood, definitely go to the Noizy Oyster! Great bar and awesome seafood - especially the crabcakes.

Good Location
The only real positive was the location. The staff was not friendly ,seemed put out that we were there. Required a $10.00 deposit for a hairdryer that was worth about $5.00 retail , no coffee provided. Hallway noise was heard in the room as if the door was open. Wind or some type of noise was coming from the exhaust fan in the bathroom. Bathroom size was extremely small barely accomodating one person. I normally do not complain about anything but I will never stay there again. We normally travel to Myrtle Beach 4 times a year for wekend get aways. We try to stay somewhere different each time chose SandCastle because of location to boardwalk.

EH!
This is a very unremarkable Myrtle Beach Hotel, but it served it's purpose nicely for New Years 2012. The beds were uncomfortable, the TV was old and small, they didn't clean the room while we were there and there was hair in the tub and toilet that really grossed me out.

The hotel itself could use some serious upgrades. Not worth the money at all. The cleaning lady was great but the front desk staff sucked!

Myrtle in November
I would assume the area around this hotel is more lively during peak season but the first weekend of November there is NOTHING open after 10pm anywhere near this hotel. The hotel itself is what you would expect from a 3star hotel: ok beds, small bathrooms, and ok service. Nothing special but nothing too bad either. Recommend for a cheap get away or maybe it is better during summer months?

Nightlife tip:
Short drive from hotel
Broadway at the Beach is the only area that seemed to have anywhere worth while to be in after 10pm.
