Efficiencies and standard rooms with basic amenities in Myrtle Beach

The serene Atlantic Ocean serves as the backdrop to the Polynesian Beach Resort. Rooms, which include oceanfront efficiencies and standard rooms, tend to the basics: a place to unwind, shower and sleep. Efficiencies also welcome travelers who prefer cooking at home -- each room has a stove, microwave and refrigerator. When the beach is too crowded, guests take full advantage of the indoor Jacuzzis, children's pool and two heated pools.

Highlights
  • Oceanfront outdoor pool, children's pool, indoor pool and indoor Jacuzzis
  • All rooms have microwaves and refrigerators
  • Efficiencies have a stove, cookware and dinnerware
  • Coin laundromat and parking garage
  • Daily maid service
Rooms

Guests choose from oceanfront efficiencies and standard rooms. Efficiencies offer the option of preparing meals in, thanks to a refrigerator, stove, microwave and limited selection of cookware and dishware. Standard rooms of the Polynesian Beach Resort manage basic amenities, including cable TV, daily maid service, a refrigerator and microwave. Many rooms have private balconies.

Recreation

A gated outdoor pool fronts the beach, while another pool and Jacuzzis heat guests indoors on cooler or rainy days.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Horrible! This is by far the worst roach motel I have ever stayed at! The staff was very unorganized and rude! Rooms we very outdated and dirty! There are numerous hidden fees! If you really need a place to stay just stay in your car before here!

If I could sue this place I would.

My group of 4 went to this "resort" for spring break, 2 of us came back with eczema. Coincidence? I think not. Oh! Also, this isnt a resort, it's a motel, it said so right on the inventory sheet we had to fill out and turn in so we wouldn't loose our $200 deposit ($50/person under 23), be we could tell right away considering there were seemingly permanent residents living there. In our first room, the single bed room had one electric outlet...it was across the room from the lamp and behind the tv that only played static because there was no cable cord. Also, the ceiling was leaking, the sink was clogged, and the tub drain was stuffed with chipped paint and hair. Fun! Luckily we got another room, which although smaller, was much better, minus that baby roach we found. The eczema though, probably came from the pool and/or the hot tub, which my friends and I noticed left us smelling of clorox when we came out. Btw, it's been over a month, and both of us are still itching away. But the icing on top of the cake came on our last night, when as we were heading out to the store we noticed an officer going in with the back of his jacket marked Crime Scene. Of course we opted not to return for a few hours, and we were glad it was our last night....Nothing like living in fear, amirite!? Lucky me, I was left with (potentially) a permanent reminder of my spring break at Polynesian Beach Resort (Motel).

Not bad for price

The hotel didn't look that great from the outside, but the inside wasn't bad. There were too many rules, and if it's not that great of a hotel, I don't understand why they would make so many.

Hidden fee nightmare

overall it was a good place to stay but being under the age and checking into this hotel is a bad idea. First we had to pay a $100 security deposit I was totally unaware of then had to perform and inventory checklist on our room as soon as we got there. Upon checkout we had to wait around for a good thirty min while they performed a security check on our room.

Don't stay here!

-I tried to get another room at several places but I was stuck here:(-could not check in until 4:00pm-Lobby smelled bad & run down-Hallways had water puddles, smelled like hot puke, trash piled 2 foot high, stains on wall-My room smelled like Mexican food & bad air freshener, with a hint of mildew-The toilet had been freshly used (#2) of course, so that was smelling good in the bathroom upon arrival (bet that toilet had been cleaned)-Stains all over the room, lamps were missing light bulbs (so I could not see more, thank the Lord!)-Every water faucet was leaking -Lots items in the room were rusted-Some of the staff was semi-friendly some was hateful -Hotel has a strict new policy of no money back, no matter what--so you can't escape.-I'm shocked [...] does business with this hotel.

What a heap!

Very Old ghettofied hotel... Paint on walls bubbling and pealing. Staff was unwilling to make change so that we would have a smaller bills when taking a taxi from the hotel. Hall ways were all flooded and we had to wade in water up past our ankles to get down the hall. Stair well smelled like puke and there was lots of trash laying around. Overall bad experience.

Close to the beach... I think they lost the Resort aspect to this hotel about 20 years ago.
