the vacation i regret

the staff was very uncooperative with me the hostess was very snoby and didnt try very hard to help me get through the check in process smoothly. i have been to many hotals in myrtle beach and i must say this was by far the worst hotal i have ever stayed at. the room was not clean, smelly, and when i complained about the fan a worker told me to move the couch from in front of the air conditioner. that is not my job, i did not set up the room to be that way it shouldnt be my responsibility to do that.

Worst stay ever -

Arrived at Hotel at 3:45pm and were waiting in line to check in for about 45 minutes, everyone kept coming back to complain about something, and many people looked very mad. When we finally got our room they gave us keys for a room that was already TAKEN, we walked in and there was a bag on the bed and shoes on the floor (good thing the guy was in the bathroom taking a shower) we quickly walked out of the room and went back down stairs to the office to complain. we did what everyone complaining was doing just get in front of the line and look mad, 20 minutes later we get the right room, by then its past 5pm, longest check in process i ever experience. The room was in good shape except for the bathroom that had soap crust all over the counter around the sink, i had to grab one of the towels and clean it up myself. Stepping out on the balcony wasn't very pleasant as the room would quickly fill up with smoke from everyone smoking out on their balconies. the remote control for the TV was wrapped in scotch tape and would work when it wanted to. very annoying. The Sauna room didnt work and when i asked the staff they acted like i was crazy for asking and just went in there and kept saying "i dont know why it doenst work" The inside pool was very bad, it smelled and the water was very dirty, unlike the outside pool that was sparkling clean (too cold for anyone to use) the lazy river was so dirty (murky) that you couldnt even see your feet at its 3ft of dept. one of the jacuzzi's was clean and enjoyable but the other was was full of foam and we didnt know why, we decided to get in it (big mistake) you could smell the urine; we quickly got out but the urine smell was already stuck to our skins... The elevator was very shaky and scary you had to hope that it would make it there, for some reason i could not get cellphone signal inside the room i had to be outside on the hallway leaning out away from the building to get some signal, i never had this problem before in the other hotels i stayed at in the past in Myrtle Beach. Overall this was the WORST stay i ever had in a Hotel. i would never recommend this Hotel to anyone and i hope this review helps someone to STAY AWAY from this hotel. I never written a review before, but i was so mad about all that happen that i felt that i had to.

terrible hotel

Ocean front door would not open... stove burners needed work... heater was very noisy... remodeling the entirs lobby, did not know about that it was awful. no ice machine on any floor worked.. beds wore out.......... telephone did not work I could go on.............

Horrible

To start out with, The room they gave me first had a huge hole patched up on the wall. Appox. 4 X 4 in size which was painted white. The rooms looked like they were in the 60's. The room color was a ugly lime green. The first room smelled horrible, The Patio door didnt lock, and there was a burn hole in the comforter. The overall Layout of the room was not convienent. You have about a foot to walk between a table the edge of the bed. Very Poorly Designed. The pools smelled like they were 99.9% Chlorine..bout got a buzz off of the pool smell.. So they moved us to another room, which was a bit better, since there was no whole in the wall... on another note...Orbitz was horrible to work with.. would not recommend it for anyone...I have memorized Trumpet Voluntary, from being on hold so long, so many numerous times...

Parking across street, no ...

Parking across street, no staff help had to haul luggage from garage to 10th floor. Room way too small for four with one bath.Electronic keys a problem entire stay, I had to make daily trips to have them re-programed. Dishes in room dirty I had to clean them. Had to ask for towels on a regular basis. Hotel staff had no idea what they were doing, no MOD to be found when asked for. For the price of the room and the services I received very poor.

Big Disapointment

The fridge leaked, I asked for extra pillows and they gave me a hard time, the 2 out of 3 elevators were broken,with 19 floors!! the view was lacking, plug in bath didn't work. What was good was the location. Help I wouldn't recommend anyone paying good money for this hotel. It was suppose to be upgraded??? I can only imagine what it was like before!!! phfff

Not worth the money!!

We were booked for the room from Sunday to Friday but had to come into the area on Saturday. So we called the reservations line and were told that a room was available and that it would be $99 with tax for the extra night. When we got to the hotel we were told that it would now be $180 plus tax. We then spent 5 hours trying to find another room for the night. On Sunday check in is at 4pm. We asked if we could check in early at 1pm and were told that the room wasn't ready yet, no big deal. We came back at 3:50pm to check in and were very rudely told that the room wasn't ready and we were still too early (2 minutes by the time we got to the desk). We waited 30 minutes before our room was ready. Meanwhile we spoke to another guest who had been waiting 5 hours for her room to be ready. Check in process was very slow. 2 people at the front desk, took 20+ minutes to check each person in. Elevators were extremely hot and stuffy. Parking was terrible, elevators in the parking garage didn't work. For those people that are handicapped, there is now parking on site, must park across the street. Restaurant staff was rude. Bathroom light was out in our room and after asking 2 times over 2 days it was finally fixed. Door jam in our room was held together with screws because it had been kicked in. Had to ask for shampoo and soap everyday because cleaning staff didn't put in any in our room. Bed had flat sheet instead of fitted sheet, so it was bunched up in the middle of the bed when we woke up in the morning. TV remote was help together with masking tape. No laundry room, washers and dryers were spread out through out different floors in the hall ways. Business center is a joke. Charge you minimum of $3 to use a computer, then $0.30 a minute, which uses dial up that takes 4 minutes just to pull up the main page. The pools were nice and the location is great but other than that the place is a joke and not worth the money. We will NOT stay here again!!!

Would not ever stay here again.

Lets see what didn't go wrong with this place.Had to change rooms in the middle of the night the second night that we were there. The keys did'nt work half the time.And what else happen there was dired blood on one of the plowes. They never brought new towles the last day we we there. Still waiting on them. The hotel second third one of the rooms cought on fire. Someone was smoking in there room. Romms were very small. The people at the frount desk did the best that they could to make our stay better, were going to stay two more nights but after all i went threw with this holtel i was ready to come home. Also i told them about all of the problems that we had have with them and all they could say was sorry. Even if we did stay two more days it wouldnt had been there. Wouldnt had stayed if they gave it to me free. My family hasnt been on a family trip in six years. And it wasnt a very good one at that. Loved the beach no problems there exceped for the life gauards talking to there girlfriends all the time when they should have been watchind the people. Washed that we had a better trip than we did what oh well will think next time before going back here. Had a better time springbreak in panamana this year raning then we did here and thats sucks......
