Palmetto Shores Oceanfront Hotel

My best friend and I decided to get a way for a few days and stayed here for 3 days. From the time we arriced until we left we had a wonderful time. The staff was very accomidating and very friendly. Our rate was wonderful and it included a daily buffet breakfast at the restaurant across the street. The staff at the restaurant were just as friendly. The food was delicious and the selection was enjoyable. ...... My only negative comment would be that the hotel lists WI-Fi in their ads. which was one of the reasons we chose the hotel. Unfortunately Wi-Fi is only offered in one of the buildings and you have to access it from the lobby. This was a disappointment. The building that we stayed in did offer access to a desk top computer downstairs in the lobby. I feel that the internet information should be stated more clearly in their ads as well and informing guests when they make their reservations or upon check in where the internet access is located. This would be very helpful information and would make for a less stressful stay to those that are expecting to access the internet while staying in Myrtle Beach. ... Other then that issue I would very much suggest staying here and look forward to the chance to go back to the beach and staying here again.

The staff was VERY nice and helpful. The hotel is in a beautiful location, if you get the ocean side rooms it is even better! The view from those rooms look right out on the beach~ what a view! They have pools, laundry rooms, and work out rooms in each building. With so many positives, the rooms are "old" and you notice many areas in need of repair. If its possible to imagine, the first room we got faced the other building, kind of small and not very "comfy"and on top of that had a leak. The staff was very good about the situation and upgraded our room for the rest of the stay, however did not offer to pay for the laundry cost of all the items that were soaked from the leak. The next room was nicer, this one had the beach view, a little more comfy feeling but still not a great set up....but on the 2nd day in this room it was raining very hard and there was a leak......we were checking out that day so wasn't to mad. This hotel has a lot of potential and I am sure have some nice rooms but there needs to be a little more attention paid to the other buildings/rooms. If we had to stay in our rooms for more of our trip I would be upset, but we didn't so I wasn't too upset. Again I want to say the Staff was VERY nice!!!!

The only thing that I have to complain about is some of the staff not very friendly. Oh and also I so not like that they have a pushy sales kins of person in the lobby trying to get you to go tour other places. Overall not a bad stay for the cost!

For money this place is average. The shower never worked properly. Mold growing in bath tub. Ceiling paint stained and falling down. There were a few pools which was decent and free breakfast buffet was a plus.

I had a ocean view room. The best of this place. 1st room had bugs and I was promptly moved to another building and given a small 1 bedroom condo on a higher floor. The condo was in serious need of an update and really good cleaning, but no bugs! Great small balcony to sit and view the beach and ocean. The good about this hotel was the view and the close access to the boardwalk. The staff was friendly and a wonderful breakfast was included at The Patio restaurant accross the street from the hotel.

Vistit during the "off-season" so great price for good hotel on the beach. Only down side was parking. Had to park across the street but not enough spaces for all the visitors. Room was clean, bed comfortable. Visit the area regularly and this is one of the better places we have stayed.

We were refunded a night of stay because there were bugs in our room (including a roach). Also, the staff was very rude to my wife. When we checked in the man at the front desk gave us a card to talk to the 'concierge' and get a welcopme pack. We did receive a welcome pack but the 'cpncierge' ended up being someone from a timeshare company that wanted us to go to a presentation. The hotel staff tried tot ell us that that is what a conierge is but I've never had a concierge like that. There were plenty of other nicer looking hotels around us. Avoid this hotel.

Really good view. This site has better prices than the hotel itself doe.

Room originally given smelled like a pack of cigarettes, which I'm allergic to. Room was changed dead roaches around kitchen/ bathroom area, toilet tissue ran out- no extra left in room. Had to pay additional money when I got there.

I was traveling for work and booked this room for $35... which is a great price for where I needed to be. When I arrived at the hotel, I checked in and got my room key. I had to carry my luggage up four flights of stairs only to discover that the room was locked from the inside when i got up there. I carried everything back down to the lobby and explained the situation. The clerk looked at me like I wasn't telling the truth , then got me another key. When I got into the room, it was dirty. There were no bugs, but there was a musty smell. There were no towels and half-used toiletries in the bathroom. I requested more towels and a housekeeper came up and handed me a bag of assorted towels. There was no Wi-Fi in the room and there were loud people all over the place. There was also no desk in the room and all of 20 channels to choose from on the television. I was extremely disappointed. The place doesn't deserve 2.9 stars and I don't know how that happened. If I had known what a mess it would be, I would have never booked there.
