Palmetto Shores Oceanfront Hotel

When we arrived at the hotel, the staff were not very nice. We were instrusted to walk to the next building. What was not told to us was that the elevator was up a flight of stairs and 2ft by 2ft. We walked in the room and immedietly I was hesitant to stay. The room was too small and their were stains on the floor. I kept telling myself that this would only be for one night. I decided to pull back the sheets and found hairs and stains. We grabbed everything in one trip and ran out of that hotel. I called the hotel and told them that the room was degusting and that we will not be staying there. Oh, and not to mention that the maids were sitting on the floor in the hallway just chatting. Ugh most disgusting place ever. Oh and that picture is of the hotel next door.

The front desk staff were nice. The ocean was perfect. The room didn't have a toilet paper holder. They didn't come and clean our room or exchange towels. There was a very dirty coffee maker and no coffee. There was so much noise from the young people and racing / showing off on Ocean Dr. that you couldn't get to sleep until after 2am. There was a lot of door slamming. The walls are so thin that it sounded like the elevator was coming through our room. I don't think that the noise is just this hotel. I think it any where at the south end of Ocean Dr in the summer. I will stay further north next time.

Upon arrival staff at the hotel told me they did not have my record of my reservation and that I had to call my third party booking agent to get it straight. While on the phone the third party booking agent, the hotel staff told me that they found my reservation in their stack of emails (they offered no apologies, seemed unconcerned). The room was not vaccuumed, cigarette holes in the bedspreads, the chairs on the patio were filty with dirt, the complimentary breakfast that was suppose to be on a hot bar was cold. Too much money for the poor service

Entering the room, the floors were dirty & sticky... Carpet was nasty & coming up off the floor. Fruit flies everywhere,do to a nasty table... The balcony was absolute horrific... And we came home with numerous bug bites... Wouldn't recommend anyone to stay at the Palmetto...

Went to check in after I got off from work (traveling pharmacist) and everything went smoothly. Went up to the room and the elevator was out, so walked up 4 flights of stairs carrying bags ect (hallways were not air conditioned). Room was filthy and not ready for check in, cleaning supplies were present, towels on floor, trash on tables, sink full of dishes. I went back to tell the guy at registration the room was not clean, he politely apologized and sent someone up to clean the room. I grabbed some dinner and went back to the room (2 hours later) and the lady was still cleaning the room. I waited another our waiting and when they finished she let me know the toilet was not in service. I went back to the desk and was going to check out, the manager "upgraded" me to another room. I will not be going back, the rooms were very dated and didnt feel very safe. The latch on my room door was broken, and it looked like it had at some point been broken in. Definitely not worth the $100!!! Ill stay somewhere else next time in Myrtle Beach!!! STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!

The carpet was filthy and housekeeping replaced the towels but no cleaning was done in the room.

this place is terrible - waited in lobby for 1 and a half hours to get my room key fixed - waited in line for a hr to check in - Actually checked out a day early because this place stressed me out

this hotel is in a great location and house keepers are nice just have bad managers - the only good thing i will say- ... bad things 1: waited in lobby line for over a hr to get a room key that worked 2: room had no ac 3: balcont was filthy 4: had to beg for towels 5: a hour and half to check out a hour and 45 to check in 6: elevators stink 7: very outdated mold on ceiling would not recommend unless just want a place to crash priced right

Very small, dirty room.,staff not friendly,lot of noise first thing in the morning(7.00 am), parking across the street.They charge me additional 23.00 bucks for something??????I show them my papers from that they should charge me 21.00 for some taxes but they still charge me 23.00 Never again I would stay here or any of my friends.

I was traveling for work and booked this room for $35... which is a great price for where I needed to be. When I arrived at the hotel, I checked in and got my room key. I had to carry my luggage up four flights of stairs only to discover that the room was locked from the inside when i got up there. I carried everything back down to the lobby and explained the situation. The clerk looked at me like I wasn't telling the truth , then got me another key. When I got into the room, it was dirty. There were no bugs, but there was a musty smell. There were no towels and half-used toiletries in the bathroom. I requested more towels and a housekeeper came up and handed me a bag of assorted towels. There was no Wi-Fi in the room and there were loud people all over the place. There was also no desk in the room and all of 20 channels to choose from on the television. I was extremely disappointed. The place doesn't deserve 2.9 stars and I don't know how that happened. If I had known what a mess it would be, I would have never booked there.
