Bad experience

My new husband and I went here for our honeymoon. We arrived the end of bike week and it was awful. It took forever for us to check in and when we finally got to our room it was unsatisfactory to say the least. There was a dirty towel in the wash, the floor was dirty, there was hair in the bathtub. Needless to say, we quickly canceled our reservation and found another hotel last minute.

Not satified at all

This was the worst experience ever out of all my times of visiting myrtle beach! I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone! We were there from friday til monday and we recieved room service only on saturday! There was no oven rack in the oven when we asked for one they said it would be the next morning; well of coarse we never got it! The refrigerator was dorm room size and we had to walk to another hotel to get ice no freaking ice machine wow.....! And to top it off there were bugs and the room smelt like it had been closed off for years! I will never stay there again! And I can't forget there was no where for us to unload we had to walk!

Poor Service

I had booked a couple of rooms for myself and some employees for a convention months ahead of time. When arriving all seemed well besides the hotel being a little old and beat up, not a prob sort of expected. We didn't plan to be in room too much anyway. When headed to one of the rooms it was obvious that we did not get a room that we had reserved, but we went ahead and checked it out anyway and to our surprise when we walked in the beds were still messed up and the TV was still on. The room hadn't even been cleaned yet. I went to the desk and told them that the room clearly not a ocean front balcony which I had ordered and was not cleaned either. (figured they accidently gave me wrong room number). They proceeded to tell me that it was the correct room and the order they got through [...]was not for a balcony room although I had paid extra for that. They told me I would have to take it up with [...]. Kind of aggrivated at this point. Ok. fine maybe [...]made a mistake... They said it will take a while to get the room cleaned so i would have to wait. I asked if they have any rooms available like the one that I had initally tried to order and they said there were none. So I decided to wait on the cleaning.. which would only take about 10-15min. After about 45min I decided to walk to a hotel next door which was called the A.T.L.A.N.T.I.C.A. which looked alot newer and cleaner.. I was going to just cancel my stay at Palmetto and stay somewere else. I whent in to check for available rooms and they said they had a room but it was not available for both nights only one and they had another room available for a different night. While checking on this a firmiliar face appeared behind the counter.. it was one of the same employees from behind the desk at the palmetto...so the hotels are owned by the same company. Why would they not have offered me a room next door??? didn't make much sense to me. O.K. I'll take the room..just want to put our stuff somewhere at this point. Well sir that room won't be available for about an hour or an hour and a half. I said O.K. we will just go and get something to eat while we wait, here is my phone # call me when it is ready. Finally called me and we were able to check into our new room which I ended up having to pay extra for. The next day check out is at 11am so I whent to the loby to see if the other room was going to be ready and to see if we needed to check out by 11. They said it would be o.k. to stay in the room till our other was clean. I waited around untill about 3pm then whent to check again because they were supposed to call when ready and the room was not ready. I told them I was going out and they need to call and let me know. I finally got a call while I was eating and I told them that I was in the middle of a meal and that I wold be there as soon as I was done, I was then told to HURRY UP!. Tweeked on my nervs a little more. No prob I said I will get there as quick as I can. So cutting dinner a little short I rushed back to transfer 5 peoples things out of the room. In the middle of doing so the front desk called me down. So I stopped what i was doing and whent down and waited in line for a while while listening to all the other guests complaints about simmilar things. When I got to the desk I told them who I was and they proceeded to tell me to hurry up and why wasn't I already out of the room and that the people that need to go into my room have been there waiting for 5hr. That was the last straw.. I used a few choice sentence inhancers and told them that if they hadn't called me down so I would wait in line for 20min I would have already been out of the room.Whent back up and finished moving stuff and came back out to do something else. While walking out of the loby a smart comment and a name was called at me for taking so long... as if it were my fault, I wonder where they could have gotten that idea?? Really Dissapointed in service. They are understaffed and un organized. Po...

WARNING!!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

Our hotel room was burglarized just hours after we checked in. Laptop, IPAD, and wallet were stolen. This hotel is seedy, dirty, gross and unsafe. The police officer said he's not suprised the room was broken into because the locks are not secure. I obviously wans't going to stay there after being robbed and management wasn't going to let me check out early without charging me! They eventually did but were very unhelpful. So please don't stay here or if you do, sleep with one eye open.

woulld rather stay in my car

the lcation was great. thats about it. the bed was hard as a rock. the pillows were nasty. we had ocean front, bottom floor. couldnt open up the drapes because the pool was about two feet away. the pool was nver cleaned, food left around, dirty towels on ground, never washed down a night. service at desk was so slow. i am used to five star hotels, however everything was booked for july forth. i guess i was lucky to get that. it is good if you want a real cheap room, even though it was two hundred and fifty bucks.

Please Beware/Check the room!

Please Beware! BLOOD & Who knows what stains! Check your room before agreeing to stay. First impression of out side not bad. Arrived around 7:30 pm Thursday night July 11th. The girl wasn't friendly at all at check in. When trying to ask questions she cut me off. Also, they don't tell you about the security deposit you have to do. $50 on a card or $100 cash. (why is it higher to use cash?) Took maybe 15 mins. Now off to the room. We were put in room 125 in the sands building. We walked in and thought oh my goodness! Didn't look or smell clean at all. Dead bolt lock on the door out to patio of the room broke! Called front desk and they sent a repair man over. Took maybe 1/2 hr. The chain on the other door broke. Didn't have any towels or wash cloths in bath room. Called front desk and they would send someone right over. Waited and waited no one came so, we went to dinner. After driving 12 hours we wanted to get our dinner and relax. Came back to room and towels and wash cloths were there. They were damp enough as if someone had just used them. We were very discussed. We tried to claim down and said we will ask to be moved in the morning. The next morning I pulled back my bed spread and found BLOOD stains and I don't even want to think about what the other stains were. (We did take pictures and will add later) We were so mad. Called front desk and said "I want my money back told them we refuse to stay in a room with BLOOD AND OTHER STAINS on the bed spread" Explain to them also the doors was broke. The bath room was dirty. Around on the bottom of the left side of the toilet there was enough pee that it couldn't had been cleaned in weeks. Tub was dirty. The metal around the ceiling in bath was rusted. My friend took a shower and water pooled out side of bath room door from the tub and when she came out she fell flat on her back and hit her head. They told me they couldn't give my money back so we could leave. I told them then you will give us another room. We are not going to stay in this dirty unsafe room. They asked us to come down to the lobby. We did. You could tell they weren't happy with us. But, [...] (suppervisor) helped us and gave us a room on the 3rd floor (325) and said he was sorry. He really was friendly and tried had to please us. It was a nice room and looked and smelled very clean. Now this was a girlfriend trip that we saved to go on for 3 years. We are not the type to expect lower price rooms to be a movie stars suite. But, what we encounted in the first room was just nasty. We gave this motel a one star rating due to the first room. If we have been given room 325 first we would had given it a 3 star. There was another guest that same day told us they have been moved 3 times. No air in one room/bad smell in another. But, the hotel did give them a up grade to a nice room. Another guest said there room was fine. But, they found blood on the pillow and had to ask for new ones. This hotel could be great if they would just take care of it and make sure their maids are doing their jobs in cleaning the rooms. Get more help! We were told they were short staff. So What! if you can't handle your buildings shut one down and only keep open the ones you can handle. I work in the healthcare field and no matter how short staff you are you continue to give the same care as you would want for yourself. (Staff? what would you have done if you found what we did on the bed at a motel you are staying at.) Clean the rooms as you would want to sleep in. That same day we were moved we seen them start cleaning and fixing things all around the motel. The 1st floor hall in the building we stayed in was wet from a leaking ice maker. Dirty from just walking through. It was finaly cleaned the last day we were there. We had the free breakfast across the street. It was very good. Found out we needed coupons from the motel. We went back and they gave them to us. Up on registrat...

DO NOT GO IF YOU WANT TO ENJOY YOURSELF.

I have been to Myrtle Beach many times in the past but this was my worst experience yet. The best thing about the hotel was the location. It is right on the strip and centrally located from just about everything. I looked it up online before i booked it and saw great pictures and floor plans of the rooms. When we got there, the room was NOTHING like what was described. There were no towels, the phone did not work, the remote for the tv looked as though it just came back from fighting a war with duct tape on it. We booked an Ocean front room and was placed in a room that barely had a view of the ocean. We had to make our own beds because housekeeping was busy for 2 days. We wanted to leave but it was Mustang Week and literally all of the hotels were booked in the area. The restaurant with a beautiful view turned out to be a restaurant with the view of a very SHODDY hotel named Palmetto Shores Oceanfront Resort in front of it. Even the pools were sub par. They were dirty and were nothing like what was shown in the pics on the site.

If you like Japanese, Kono was GREAT. The prices were very reasonable. The atmosphere was casual-relaxed and you can have a semi late dinner and stay for the club which plays a variety of music. By far my favorite restaurant there.
