Great Value
Hotel is definitely older (I remember when it used to be the Poindexter) but I don't need luxury. The location can't be beat, if the Boardwalk & other activities interest you. When I get there, I park my car & it does not move again until I leave. Can easily walk most everywhere & that's HUGE with Myrtle Beach traffic. There's a Piggly Wiggly straight up on 17 & their restaurant is across the street & quite good. Staff is friendly & helpful. Lots of staff activity, cleaning the pools every morning, aerating the front lawn, & they are in the process of updating the rooms but like any capital project, that will take some time. My room was basic but clean & it had a full size refrigerator, which was great. I won't hesitate to stay here again.

The elevators in the condo building (which is part of PS are slow. I would avoid a high floor. The stairs in the older buildings are easily managed & don't wear you out b/c they're broken up by small walkways.

Nice little birthday trip
This was just a one night stay for a friend's birthday bash at the beach. Overall no complaints on the room or location. I would stay again. The only thing that got to me is that we called in advance and asked that the three rooms we had booked be together since we were all coming from out of town and wanted to be near each other for convenience and security. When I called I was told that it wasn't possible to get them together. I then asked for a note to be put on the rooms so we could at least be in the same building, since there were multiple. after check in we ended up with two rooms together and one in a different building. I just don't see how you have reservations in advance, as the hotel can plan out their rooms for the day and not block out the reserves together. (I used to work in a hotel...) But I may use this location again.

wonderful time
The staff was very friendly and warming. Hotel located within walking distance of everything on the strip. The only down fall in my eyes was the little bugs outside on the balcony they were everywhere.

staff and room cleaning girls were great.one night we came back to hotel and could not find a parking space and one of the front desk guys walked out to show me were to park.WOW dont take the free breakfast offer from this hotel too lightly.we did not use it until half way thu the stay.breakfast is a free buffet every day.its great so are the workers.its across the street called the patio.peir fishing 5 hotles away also 10 hotels away is board walk

Had a great time. Just me and my "rib" donor! We spent very little time at the Palmetto. This resort was close to so many other thigs that it allowed us to be out and about most of time. We both really enjoyed ourselves.

Good time Palmetto
I had a great time at the Palmetto Shores. This was my first time in MB, so I only stayed 2 nights. The Palmetto was right in the middle of it all . Great location. Freindly staff, great room.This will be my MB home.
