Palmetto Shores Oceanfront Hotel

WELL FIRST OF ALL WHEN WE GOT THERE AND CHECKED IN AT 3 OUR ROOM WAS SUPPOSED TO BE READY,IT WAS MARKED AS READY,WELL IT HADN'T EVEN BEEN CLEANED,THE BEDS HADNT BEEN MADE,FLOORS WAS DIRTY,THE SAFE IN THE ROOM THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO SECURE OUR VALUABLES DIDNT EVEN WORK,OUR TOILET PAPER HOLDER WAS LAYING ON THE BACK OF THE TOILET WHERE IT HAD COME A LOOSE FROM THE WALL,LAST OF ALL THE WATER WAS SHUT OFF FOR A WHOLE DAY BECAUSE THEY HAD TO DO MAINTENANCE,ALL OF THAT SHOULD'VE ALREADY BEEN DONE,ALSO THE POOL WAS DIRTY LIKE IT HADNT BEEN CLEANED IN A WHILE

We stayed here for 2 nights and it wasn't what we thought it would be. The pictures online make it look way different than it was. We didn't like how you couldn't hook up anything to the tv such as a dvd player because the tv was bolted down. The beds weren't very comfortable and the balcony had the air conditioning unit on it that blew out hot air. We liked the bathrooms because they were pretty updated and it had 4 pools one being a kiddie pool and one an indoor pool. There were 2 hot tubs but one of them wasn't even hot. We did like the swing that was set up facing the beach though. The hotel is on the part of the beach with a lot of shells which we didn't like. We stayed in other places more north of this hotel and the beaches were alot better. One thing we loved was the breakfast vouchers we received for the cafe across the street. It was a buffet style breakfast and it was amazing. Definitely will go back to the cafe but Overall I don't think we would stay at palmetto shores again.

great location,great price,could use a little updating but for price was an excellent value

the lcation was great. thats about it. the bed was hard as a rock. the pillows were nasty. we had ocean front, bottom floor. couldnt open up the drapes because the pool was about two feet away. the pool was nver cleaned, food left around, dirty towels on ground, never washed down a night. service at desk was so slow. i am used to five star hotels, however everything was booked for july forth. i guess i was lucky to get that. it is good if you want a real cheap room, even though it was two hundred and fifty bucks.

Check in took a while, overall unit was nice. worth the price. Myrtle beach is pretty dope.

First, I had to go the the ER the night before my trip, and when I called the general manager, he was very understanding and willing to help me out (not often the case!). Upon arrival, my efficiency room was much better and roomier than I expected! Though the amenities (pool, etc) were pretty low-grade, we had our pick of neighboring hotel amenities to "enjoy" ;). The BEST part was the free breakfast we received. If you can swing the free breakfast coupons, do it, because that was the best I've had at any beach hotel. They don't stress that enough as a selling point for Palmetto Shores, because it's the best thing they have goin' for them!! Totally worth the price for those of us who can't afford the super fancy places (especially since I was there over July 4th weekend)! My warning, though, is that the restaurant blasts loud music starting around 6pm until late. I was on the 6th floor, and it was still really loud. If you can handle that, you're golden!

We had a wonderful time. Hotel was clean. It's in a great location, the new Ferris wheel and boardwalk are about two blocks away(easy walking distance)We watched a weekly fireworks display from the boardwalk that was cool. The staff were super nice and willing to help anyway they could.Room also came with a buffet breakfast that was very good.We are looking forward to going back and staying there again in the fall.

We had a great week at the Palmetto Shores. Our 6th floor oceanfront room was big, comfortable and nicely decorated. Evenings on the balcony were relaxing. When we checked in we had a 2nd floor room. It was right over the pool and was rather loud. [...], the front desk supervisor, moved us on the second day to a 6th floor room. He worked hard to make our stay the best it could be. We will be going again next year!

The location was okay, the sevices wasn't good, room had a damp smell, the doors were bit up, the lobby, around the building, the elevator, the hallway were very dirty, no room services, couldn't get the breakfast to our room. Overall, bad experience and would not go back to the location. [...]sold it, but it didn't represent as was sold.

Myrtle Beach is just one of the best places to be on vacation. The ocean is just great! The water is so clean! so warm! so pleasant! We spent hours in the water playing, swimming, relaxing. The white sand is a big plus. The weather is always perfect. The Palmetto Shores Hotel has 3 buildings. We were staying in Coral building and we had partially ocean view from a pretty big balcony. The cleaning servise was great. The staff is very friendly and can answer any question you could have. The building and ground kept very clean. You can have barbecue on the beach! There are a lot of entertantment: Believe it o not Ripley Museum, Mirrormaze labirynth, Waterparks, Amusement park, golf, movietheather, dolphins watch tour, one of a kind hands on wild animals like tigers and monkeys tour, and so forth. You will never get bored here. The food is awesom! SOHO, Calabash, Brasilian steak House name it. GREAT VACATION!!!!!!!!!! The only minus was a bad smell in the hotel.
