DO NOT GO IF YOU WANT TO ENJOY YOURSELF.
I have been to Myrtle Beach many times in the past but this was my worst experience yet. The best thing about the hotel was the location. It is right on the strip and centrally located from just about everything. I looked it up online before i booked it and saw great pictures and floor plans of the rooms. When we got there, the room was NOTHING like what was described. There were no towels, the phone did not work, the remote for the tv looked as though it just came back from fighting a war with duct tape on it. We booked an Ocean front room and was placed in a room that barely had a view of the ocean. We had to make our own beds because housekeeping was busy for 2 days. We wanted to leave but it was Mustang Week and literally all of the hotels were booked in the area. The restaurant with a beautiful view turned out to be a restaurant with the view of a very SHODDY hotel named Palmetto Shores Oceanfront Resort in front of it. Even the pools were sub par. They were dirty and were nothing like what was shown in the pics on the site.

Short walk from hotel
If you like Japanese, Kono was GREAT. The prices were very reasonable. The atmosphere was casual-relaxed and you can have a semi late dinner and stay for the club which plays a variety of music. By far my favorite restaurant there.

Good for a weekend getaway
Registration was quick and the room was decent and most of all clean. Housekeeping must clean the rooms when the guests leave, because they never came to freshen up the room. If you keep the room neat, then that's fine. We did request extra towels and we got plenty right away. The only two disappointing aspects of our stay were the parking and buffet breakfast at the Patio Restaurant. Even though the hotel has a large parking lot across the street, it fills up quickly and good luck finding a space after 11pm. The breakfast buffet was small with limited options but for only $7.95, I guess you can't be too picky. Our breakfast was included in our package, but on the last day we went somewhere else. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would probably stay there again if I get a good deal.

Short drive from hotel
The location of the hotel was close to many shopping centers (Walmart, Costco, drug stores, and tons of souvenirs stores) and restaurants. Celebrity Circle is also a very short drive away.

Ho Hum
The location was great, just off the beach and three blocks from the boardwalk. But I was surprised that the house staff didn't make an attempt to re-install the smoke detector (it was sitting on top of microwave with no batteries) during my 3 nite stay. The wash cloths were not replenished. There was a coffee pot in the room but no supplies. The drawer to nightstand could not be opened and no local telephone directory to be found. There was a spot on the floor in front of frig that was wet when we arrived. The room itself needs to be updated with new carpet and bedding.

not too bad
We just wanted a place to sleep, toss our stuff and enjoy the area, and that is what we got. No bugs in the room, no left overs from the previous guests, so nothing to make us go screaming lol. Breakfast across the street was nice and filling, plus could walk to just about every where on the board walk. Parking for the first 10 minutes drove us nuts, but we just went to the over flow spots which were a short walk away from the room. When we did go out in the car, there were always spaces there. No wi-fi in the rooms alas, but they had these nice hardwood swings that gave a great view of the beach. Swings were better than the wi-fi, plus we could leach from the hotel next door if we went outside. The only issue I kinda sorta had was that they charged a resort fee [...]. Yeah 6 bucks a day, but hey, now some poor hermit crab didn't get a trip back to my place now. If you are looking for 5 star service, no, this isn't your place. If you are looking for a nice clean room that will keep you comfy when not outside enjoying what you traveled all that distance for anyway, this is a good value.

Please Beware/Check the room!
Please Beware! BLOOD & Who knows what stains! Check your room before agreeing to stay. First impression of out side not bad. Arrived around 7:30 pm Thursday night July 11th. The girl wasn't friendly at all at check in. When trying to ask questions she cut me off. Also, they don't tell you about the security deposit you have to do. $50 on a card or $100 cash. (why is it higher to use cash?) Took maybe 15 mins. Now off to the room. We were put in room 125 in the sands building. We walked in and thought oh my goodness! Didn't look or smell clean at all. Dead bolt lock on the door out to patio of the room broke! Called front desk and they sent a repair man over. Took maybe 1/2 hr. The chain on the other door broke. Didn't have any towels or wash cloths in bath room. Called front desk and they would send someone right over. Waited and waited no one came so, we went to dinner. After driving 12 hours we wanted to get our dinner and relax. Came back to room and towels and wash cloths were there. They were damp enough as if someone had just used them. We were very discussed. We tried to claim down and said we will ask to be moved in the morning. The next morning I pulled back my bed spread and found BLOOD stains and I don't even want to think about what the other stains were. (We did take pictures and will add later) We were so mad. Called front desk and said "I want my money back told them we refuse to stay in a room with BLOOD AND OTHER STAINS on the bed spread" Explain to them also the doors was broke. The bath room was dirty. Around on the bottom of the left side of the toilet there was enough pee that it couldn't had been cleaned in weeks. Tub was dirty. The metal around the ceiling in bath was rusted. My friend took a shower and water pooled out side of bath room door from the tub and when she came out she fell flat on her back and hit her head. They told me they couldn't give my money back so we could leave. I told them then you will give us another room. We are not going to stay in this dirty unsafe room. They asked us to come down to the lobby. We did. You could tell they weren't happy with us. But, [...] (suppervisor) helped us and gave us a room on the 3rd floor (325) and said he was sorry. He really was friendly and tried had to please us. It was a nice room and looked and smelled very clean. Now this was a girlfriend trip that we saved to go on for 3 years. We are not the type to expect lower price rooms to be a movie stars suite. But, what we encounted in the first room was just nasty. We gave this motel a one star rating due to the first room. If we have been given room 325 first we would had given it a 3 star. There was another guest that same day told us they have been moved 3 times. No air in one room/bad smell in another. But, the hotel did give them a up grade to a nice room. Another guest said there room was fine. But, they found blood on the pillow and had to ask for new ones. This hotel could be great if they would just take care of it and make sure their maids are doing their jobs in cleaning the rooms. Get more help! We were told they were short staff. So What! if you can't handle your buildings shut one down and only keep open the ones you can handle. I work in the healthcare field and no matter how short staff you are you continue to give the same care as you would want for yourself. (Staff? what would you have done if you found what we did on the bed at a motel you are staying at.) Clean the rooms as you would want to sleep in. That same day we were moved we seen them start cleaning and fixing things all around the motel. The 1st floor hall in the building we stayed in was wet from a leaking ice maker. Dirty from just walking through. It was finaly cleaned the last day we were there. We had the free breakfast across the street. It was very good. Found out we needed coupons from the motel. We went back and they gave them to us. Up on registrat...

Our ocean-front room was 1st floor, with the ground-level "balcony" leading a few steps to the kiddie-pool. We had called a month before requesting an upper room. We called again day of arrival to report a late check-in, due to travel. Again mentioned the upper level floor request, and were told the request had been noted. Went back to front desk after discovering room assignment, were told hotel was full, room would have already been assigned at time of call for late check-in (but that was not revealed when we called), and that "nothing could be done because the room was booked through a third party." It came across as "you book through [...], you get the left overs." And that turned out to be literally true. The room smelled like fried food as we entered. The following morning, we opened the microwave to warm a bagel, and discovered a paper plate of fried chicken, some of it partially eaten. For fear of the cleaning crew not checking the microwave, as obviously hadn't been done after the previous guests, we threw the chicken into the trash prior to heading out to the beach. We came back in to find the beds had been "made" without a top sheet on one of them, AND the trash, complete with the chicken, remained in the room. We were also told there were not any extra pillows available. After speaking with the manager,he was able to move us to the 5th floor after we spent one more night in the 1st floor room. The upstairs room had the promised ocean view. The appliances were clean, though the refrigerator quit working, and after the 2nd call, it was replaced.
