Palmetto Shores Oceanfront Hotel

We used to travel a lot but this is the worst hotel that I saw in my whole life, I check in and 5 minutes after I check out, Nasty , Nasty.

When we first arrived the hotel wasn't as it was in the pictures. The room was clean but had some downfalls... The shower head trickled water, the fridge door wouldn't open. Overall i would give it a 2 out of 5.

We had a clean room with a side view of the ocean. The beds were clean, my only complaint was while showering your water would scald you then go to cold at all times!

average trip and accommodations. Did not like the fact that there was no outside pool and only a lazy river.

Rooms were not as expected....they put us on the 10th floor the night we checked in...had maintenance issues with the shower curtain rod....it fell off the wall the first time we went to use the shower....

Our experience was unlike any other we have had. We were put into a room on the second floor of the oldest building---which did not have an elevator (or an ice machine!!) This made it especially difficult considering my husband is facing knee surgery and I have had surgery on both legs and one ankle. The room was ocean-front, however, the dining table was set near the entrance of the room, rather than near the window facing the ocean! There were no counters or shelves in the bathrom, therefore we were forced to put our toiletries on the dining table and/or in the kitchen cabinets! The hanging closet was positioned at the top side of the first bed, and the bed was up against the wall--literallly with no space to get into the closet. Therefore requiring us to climb on the bed to get to our hanging clothes put our shoes on the floor in front of the bed!!! I AM NOT KIDDING!!!! We had never seen a room layed-out so horribly!!! Of course all these things just caused unnecessary frustration, aggravation and extra time for things. On a positive note, we did have a young lady named Jessica, who worked at the front desk, that was extremely pleasant, caring and professional. We also ate at the restaurant on site, and were pleased with the food and the service we received.

During the storm our room was flooded. The door could have been closer to the ground for safety reasons. Water was coming under the door which caused the room to get flooded. The carpet was not the cleanest and the coach was very dirty in room XXX. Our room keys was not activated once I arrived to my room, and was deactivated on several occasions, which was an inconvenience coming in from long day and having to walk to the lobby after going to my room. The lobby was not in my bldg when I was moved to room XXXX. I found this to be very inconvenient as well if you have small children. Housekeeping would stop the elevators on every floor to take out trash which caused us to wait for an elevator for over 15 mins. I don't think I will be back at palmetto Shores for my next trip to Myrtle Beach.

Located right on beach, very nice, previous reviews said free breakfast, was none, very noisy and AC didnt work well, but good price and being right on beach front was great. Enjoyed it anyway but will probably spend more next time for something more quiet.

1. Its not the big hotel in the picture its the small motel looking ones next to it. 2. Its still a nice hotel for anyone who wants to enjoy the beach . 3. They have three pools one of them is a nice kiddy pool . 4. The bed is good enough . I've been to some in myrtle beach and its worse than jail but these are good. I paid 49 dollars so I think that was very good for a hotel .

My experience was very pleasant. My main concern was how close the beach would be from the hotel and it is right on the beach so that was perfect. Also the cleaning staff that i encountered in the hall were very friendly.
