Rooms

Rich earth tones pair well with heavy wood furniture, luxury linens and contemporary artwork in the rooms, studios and suites at the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes, which are all equipped for high-speed Internet access. Not as advertised.

Can't recommend this hotel. Their beachside chairs & umbrellas stop when the cabana closes--aka 5pm on Labor Day. After that, no chairs/ umbrella/beach shuttle. This wasn't mentioned online--if we had known, we would not have booked there--nor was this mentioned when we checked in, which ruined the last 2 days of our vacation. If we could have left and booked elsewhere for those days, we would have. Bathroom light and room a/c went out in the middle of the night. Constant issue getting towels. Found someone else's shoe and glass under the bed. Bartender at main bar put sprite in the mojito rather than mixing sugar and lime. Gym is very hot and so moldy my friend's asthma was triggered. You need a car to get anywhere. Not worth it--spend a bit more and stay at one of the real oceanfront hotels instead.

Great last-minute vacation

Book via mobile app. Got 20% off. Great rooms. Meals is not gratuitous for children and less adult pays. Other than that the perfect vacation. Much better than South Myrtle Beach!

Great Weekend

My wife and 2 kids were thrilled. Marina Inn has it's own private section of the beach with shuttle service. Indoor and outdoor pool were great. Room service was actually reasonable and very close proximity to shopping and activities. I think I've started a Labor Day tradition.

Short trip from NC

We came to Myrtle from NC for a 4 day getaway. We got a really good deal based on which I would give this hotel 5 stars. All the staff are super accommodating and really want to make your stay great. The pool area is a bit small and in the late afternoon was quite crowded with families with small children. The biggest drawback to this hotel is that it is not on the beach. The shuttle is convenient though. Our time spent at the beach was great. The chairs are comfortable (although there is no comfortable way to lay on your stomach) and there were always an adequate number. (sit front row not 2nd row) Also the private beach is not crowded. We took a couple long walks both directions and other resorts' beaches are super crowded and chaotic. Marina Inn's beach is markedly calm. The towels they give you at the pool and beach could stand to be upgraded, but they let you sign out as many as you need so its not a big deal. The hotel's location in Myrtle is convenient to a lot of attractions. We were mostly there to go to the beach and to be hang out together and skipped most of the tourist stuff. Overall it was a great trip and a great home base in Myrtle Beach.

Fabulous MB Resort!

I booked this hotel for a quick beach weekend getaway from my husband and me after receiving a 50% off promo for this hotel. We were not disappointed! Somehow, we received a free upgrade to a studio room--beautiful views of the Intracostal Waterway, HUGE room, HUGE bathroom, jacuzzi soaking tub (so relaxing!), and kitchenette. The room was very clean (I'm very particular about hotel cleanliness) and so comfortable! The hotel provides free valet parking, a free shuttle to and from its "private" beach area (the hotel is not directly on the beach), free towels/umbrellas/beach chairs at the beach, free coffee in the morning, free lemonade and cookies at 3 pm, and free wifi--of course, this comes "free" as part of the very reasonable one-time resort fee. The staff was courteous and assistive. Although the parking lot was full, the hotel, pool, and beach were not crowded at all. If you are looking for a great beach retreat, I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially if you can get a discounted rate--then it is very affordable and worth every dime!

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

There is a small shopping center across the street from the hotel that has a grocery store and some restaurants, including a Subway. If you get a room with a kitchenette, go to the grocery store to pick up some breakfast foods and then get some coffee from the hotel lobby in the morning--great inexpensive breakfast! Also, for the beach, pick up some Subway sandwiches to take for lunch.
