Not bad, Not great

The staff was friendly and courteous. There was water on the floor when we got to the room that was leaking from the fridge and it was fixed promptly. There was trash left in the room when we got there (in the form of an empty pizza box) though. Also I thought it was odd that they didn't take out the trash when they cleaned our room, even though it was full. They also took our bath mat towel off the floor and didn't replace it. Weird. There were coffee mugs but no coffee pot which i also found curious. the beds and pillows were just ok. The pool is very nice, as is the lazy river too. My 14 year old niece loved it. I'd stay there again if I were on a budget, but if i wanted someplace nice i'd keep looking.

Awesome Room

Very smooth check-in and received our room 2 hours early. The room was clean, staff was professional and facility well maintained. We were disappointed that when we returned to our room at 12:30am there were no parking spaces available. This happened to many of us. We were able to park across the street along the curb without getting a ticket or towed. I would recommend this resort to everybody.

romantic getaway

valentines day weekend was great. The hotel staff was nice.. The reservation was easy for them to find. When we got to the hotel we were informed that the room was upgraded. The only issue was the building covering the oceanview, but we were able to see it clearly on the left and right side of the balcony. The pools were nice. The room was spacious. We had enough towels and washcloths. Kitchen was fully equipped with a stove and living room had a nice size flat screen tv and dvd player. Parking garage was located on the same permises as the hotel and had free parking. We weren't far from the strip the area that the hotel was in was very quiet and nice. While in myrtle beach we had dinner at "The Original Benjamins Calabash". We checked out Alligator Adventure which was a great price. Lunch at Steak n Shake was very good and affordable. Overall the trip was very nice and we would stay at this hotel next time we come to Myrtle Beach.

Long Bay Resort Review

Lots of pools and floating river. On the beach, nice location. Room was narrow but adequate. TV reception was poor and asked front desk to fix, but staff didn't fix it. Didn't have the option to not have linens changed - I had to ask for it.

Long Bay August 1-4- 2010

Run down room: no shower curtain; balcony door did not lock properly; phone was not working ; only partially cleaned . After complained was logged it took 1/2 day to sort all this out . The Deluxe oceanview ([...]) had an entrance along the cars in the indoor parking garage and from the 2-nd floor overlooked a parking lot , a side street and a main street. From the balcony , a sliver of ocean could be seen !

"From decent, to deceptive, to 'gotcha'!

Curtains were threadbare. The shower was not working @ check-in. Bathrooms were not cleaned- someone's body hair & insect wing were in the tube. Sink drains had mold & mildew. My oceanview room meant hanging over the railing to see past the palm trees & hotel to see a sliver of the ocean. Only decent thing was housekeeping on day 2- she was wonderful!! Otherwise- will never stay here again!

Sugami is a great place for sushi @ a reasonable price. They also have other selections for non-suishi patrons.

Worst hotel I have ever stayed at

First I was given the card to an occupied room; then I was given the card to a dirty room. Then I finally got to a clean room and the maid walked in on me as I was getting dressed (she was told by front desk room had checkout and needed to be cleaned). When I complained to the front desk management acted like it wasn't a big deal. Hotel is overall unkept and dirty. Did have nice pools however.

I've stayed a better places for $100.00!

The hotel was fairly easy to find. The pictures on the website by no means give you an idea of what thge actual accommodations will be. The room was clean enough but the carpets were in need of repair or replacement. The desk staff was courteous. The room I stayed in was on the 6th floor. The bedrooms are at the front by the walkway so you can hear everything or everyone can hear you. The layout was just not very appealing. If I had no other choice I suppose I would stay there again, but now I know not to expect too much!

Room without a View

When we opened our hotel room, we were shocked to find the room was given to someone else. The front desk person was not very helpful but the manager came and sorted the whole mess out. We were given an apology and a much nicer room. Mistakes happen and my only complaint is this. When we chose an oceanfront room, our the hotel was giving us a second floor room and tried to give us a first floor room. At this particular hotel, those rooms do indeed face the ocean but you cannot see the ocean because of the pool area and another hotel built in front of it from those floors. As we found out later, this was the cause for the room mix-up The family in the room was changing rooms because they had also paid for an oceanfront room and could not see the ocean from the first floor. My advice is to request room on a higher floor before you arrive. Once we were settled in our room, our stay was very enjoyable
