Grande Shores Ocean Hotel

this hotel leaves a lot to be desired! the room has seen better days. my front door didnt even close properly. this hotel is built around a parking garage which was quite unsightly. when i pulled in at around 10 at nite various other guests were milling around, yelling on the top of their lungs. peoples doors were left open. the whole place smelled like a fish fry, which was strange because there wasnt any restaurant. the staff would never know any of this because they were safely ensconsed in the office which was totally removed from the prison like atmosphere.

Overall: Great hotel for the money. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were clean. Swimming pools were clean and well maintained. Some things could be improved: Internet service was really slow. Some rooms still have manual air-conditioning(wihtout a thermal stat). So you can either turn it on or off. But you can not set a temperture for automatic operation. One of the rooms that I stayed was right above the washing room. It was noisy and the floor got really warm. Also its bathroom has a light smell of sewage. Probably a plumbing problem.

We were very pleased with our Myrtle Beach Vacation. The hotel was right on the ocean and the view was spectacular. The room had it's own kitchen, including a stove, microwave, refrigerator and sink. Very nice. My only complaint was that I could not stay longer. The hotel staff was very friendly was well. The parking garage was also very convient. I would definitely recommend to a friend.

The hotel's location was perfect. The parking deck was so convenient and the room was spacious and spotless. The view from our oceanfront efficiency was spectacular! The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I loved everything about this hotel except for the bed - it was just too firm for me. Nevertheless, I would definitely stay there again.

Beach hotel parking is a problem this hotel has solved in a helpful manner with inside parking on multiple floors. The beach itself is excellent, clean and well attended. Pools are excellent, both at ground level and on a rooftop. Room was not the most uptodate, but clean, housekeeping service excellent, and there were no shortcomings with regard to service there. The in-room kitchen area was well stocked, full range, with stove, oven and microwave, full size refridgerator. The layout of the room is good. I had difficulty with the wireless internet, was provided an ethernet cable that unfortunately, only plugged in beside my bed--however it worked and I got my office work done while vacationing at the beach! I might add hotel staff is friendly and helpful, not only with the internet service, but with arranging tickets at a discount for an excellent show and with directions to Starbucks! Food service was lacking, the bar at the pool left much to be desired and I would have liked a few more electric outlets in the room. The elevators were taxed, but walking up the stairs proved great exercise for us. All of this is offset by the great parking arrangement, the wonderful view (I had a full balcony beachfront, really wonderful), the beach itself and the cost. I located Starbucks and many good restaurants in the immediate area; juggled the cell phones and laptop for outlets and internet access; and adored the view. It was a great vacation spot, and I will go back.

Grand Shores was okay for family type vacationing. It had a decent enough room but very practical and the bathroom was definitely a two star type. The beach was nice and not overcrowded. The staff was nice. It was just a very functional type place rather than really comfortable or with any extras. Probably for the price it is a good deal- I had not been to the beach in a few years and as everything else, you just pay a lot more for what you get these days.

The location was very good. However, the hotel was doing construction on it.

The Grande Shores Ocean Resort was a very nice place to spend our days at the beach. We stayed in a one bedroom condo that had a beautiful view of the Grand Strand. The accomodations were very spacious with 2 queen beds, a murphy bed and a sofa bed in the living room. There was a full kitchen stocked with utensils and pots and pans and the shower was nice. The resort has may recreational options including a lazy pool and hot tubs on the 6th floor overlooking the beach and a pool/lazy river/bar and bbq area beachfront. Plus a grassy area for those who like to lounge without the sand. A great place to stay!
