Grande Shores Ocean Hotel

My hotel stay was pretty much excellent. Chris who worked the front desk at check-in was excellent. He went out of his way to get us checked in as soon as possible. The room had a bad spot on the floor, but the clean-up engineer came to room and took care of the problem. He went out of his way to make sure we were completely satisfied with his clean-up task. I loved the parking which was right outside the hotel room door. Will surely stay at this resort again.

The hotel was average, nothing special. The location was close to a few good eateries.

With so many mixed reviews about this location I honestly had no idea what to expect. I chose it primarily because of the great pricing that was available, and the fact that it was right on the beach. Although I was upset upon arrival at the late 4pm check in time, I must say that I am really pleased with my stay at this hotel. I was ecstatic to open my room door and see such a spacious area fully equipped with a small kitchen. The view from my windows were also stunning and relaxing to watch on a daily basis. On site there are a couple of pools to accommodate just about everyone in this huge! building. Location wise the hotel is about a 10 minute drive from the boardwalk which is fine because of so many restaurants/shops/grocery places scattered all over myrtle beach. The service from everyone employed at this location was great, and overall I had a great 5 night stay. The only thing that bothered me was the tight parking spaces made available, however it is FREE parking so I will take that. Besides that the hotel does seem a bit old, and in need of a renovation on the inside(nothing drastic). I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is planning a vacation in Myrtle Beach.

First time to Myrtle Beach- like Daytona on steroids. This hotel was in a sedate and quiet area with an easy commute to everything. The sand and ocean water matched- both gray but the waves were fun- just the right size for kids & adults. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Our oceanfront room had a full size fridge and microwave and a great view. Front office was friendly and helpful. Indoor & plentiful outdoor pools. Parking spots could fill up if you arrive after 9pm in the evening but it's really convenient to park on the same floor as your room especially when moving suitcases. Bank of 3 elevators is in the middle of the complex so if you're using the beach you have a bit of a walk or use the stairs.

Great location. Rooms are adequate. Good value if you don't want to overspend for a room.

We reserve an extra night to begin earlier, but i was very disappointed when we got to the room, my ocean view was from the side of the building with 2 big trees right beside the balcony, what's the point! when i call the front desk no one offered a upgrade which i would've been glad to pay, then we was placed next to the housekeeping Dept. with the carts in the middle of the hall, making difficult to even get down the hall to the beach & the whole room shook every afternoon, questionable them doing laundry, housekeeping didn't even clean the room or give us clean linen, we had to take our own garbage out and linen, then get clean linen. No resolutions was offer

Our stay at the hotel was great the staff was very helpful

had a great time. room was a little smaller than i thought it would be. had 2 queen beds and a full kitchen. no sitting area but was really nice. would have liked a map of the hotel to show where everything was located. parking was great, loved the fact that you can drive up to the same floor your staying on. driving around and a round to go up in down did make me a little sick, wouldnt stay higher than the sixth room.

The hotel is with good location, clean rooms, very comfortable parking lot, nice swimming pools –especially those on the 7th floor. I was on the 4th floor with ocean view not ocean front room but the view was awesome. Definitely I would like to come back.

Hotel room was very outdated, in disrepair, and felt dirty. Brought the family to enjoy the beach while I attended business. Chose hotel based upon location (good), price (good), and photos (not accurate). First impression: very outdated furnishings, in need of a renovation at least post 1970s. "Oceanview" was a sorry disappointment, as you would have to press your face to the window to even glimpse the ocean. Carpet felt sticky to bare feet- gross! The management was friendly and apologetic, however the accomodations were not (in our opinion) suitable for families. Perhaps more suited to adult groups who won't spend any time in the rooms or who will spend that time making their own mess.
