Don't believe everything you read....
Hotel was very "worn". The doorknob was falling off - we had to repair it! Walls were paper thin...you could hear everything in the adjoining rooms. Heater/air conditioner unit off/on switch not working - had to plug/unplug the unit to operate it. No guide to TV stations - had to guess what was what. No paper, no pen, no alarm clock. Air gap around door to room - when cars turned into hotel parking lot at night their headlights shined in around the door! Everything was just very old and worn. Holes in carpet on exterior stairs, very dangerous! Shortage of parking spaces. Breakfast area had restroom doors opening directly into the eating area - ugh! Really thought we would get a nicer room for the price at this time of year in Myrtle Beach.

The staff was very friendly and the rooms were very big but the hotel just feels dirty and the rooms need to be updated. The bathrooms were extremely small and the tv's made a very annoying buzzing sound while turned on. I guess we got what we paid for. If I come back to Myrtle Beach I will probably look for a different hotel.

Horrible experience!!!
We booked a hotel here for two days for college Spring Break 2011. As we pulled up our mouths just dropped. The building looks like any gust of wind will knock it down, there's cracks on the walls and the parking lot had trash all in it. We continued to walk into the office to check in and the smell was AWFUL. It was a mixture of smoke and musty smells. We didn't even go to our room to see what it looked like it was so bad. We demanded a refund and stayed at a Best Western in North Myrtle. We are college students and were just looking to have a few good nights outs down there but this hotel definatley put a damper on our trip. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
Go to the Boathouse right across from the waterway by Hard Rock Park. Best food and drink specials around and they have bands that play outside during the summer season.

good room for the price
Hotel staff were very nice and helpful. The room wasn't the greatest, but for the price it was great. The hotel is on the main strip of Ocean Blvd on the south side. The cooling/heating unit is in an odd spot in the room (in the back of the room). Parking at the hotel is very compact.

About 5 miles from Broadway by the beach and 15 miles from The House Of Blues. There are a lot of small restaurants within walking distance. Riplyes attractions are a short drive down the road.

Couldn't get past the smell
Do yourself a favor and do not stay here! For just a few extra dollars you can stay in a nice, clean, hotel. My husband and I travel extensively and have stayed in budget hotels that were fine. We wanted a short beach getaway, and this hotel looks fine on the outside. The sign in the lobby saying "the signal for internet is so poor, if it is important to you, you should stay elsewhere" should have been a tip off. Or, maybe the clerk stuffing food in his mouth at the front desk? The smell in the elevator and stains in the hallway are just a prelude to the stench in the room. We did not even sit our bag down, but instead went back to the office for a full refund. This place should have a total update, or the very least a good scrubbing.

Nice Enough Hotel
Centrally located. Friendly staff. Clean enough beds. Good housekeeping. Full fridge. Microwave. Hairdryer. TV/Remote. All worked. Clean though small bathroom. Several good WiFi hotspots in and around the hotel. But...the shower was problematic: There was enough water pressure in the lower faucet of the tub but the shower-head did not give enough water. Took forever to shower. And using the lower faucet gave a lot of too HOT water.

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
US Hwy 17, with lots of shopping etc is only a short walk from the hotel though we did not realize it until the last day. Still, on Ocean Blvd. itself there are places like Mako's restaurant and a Mini Mart less than a mile from the hotel.
