Nice stay
The hotel was nice and suited our needs. Only bad experience is that our oven did not work in the room. The water park provided hours of fun for the children. Parking was little to none. Overall stay was a nice experience.

Relaxing atmosphere
Compass Cove Oceanfront Resort is oceanfront and has lots of water attractions which was very nice. The beach location was less crowded than OC, MD. It was quiet and the suite was spacious, except for the kitchen which had no counterspace. The place looked like it needed a facelift, especially the smelly carpeted areas around the elevators. The elevators were very slow and even broken during our stay which made for major waits to access our room/the facilities. The game room consisted of all broken games which ate our tokens. We reported the problem and were refunded the moneys but were told that others had complained as well. The least they could have done was put a note on the door. Parking was very limited and sometimes you had to cross a busy street to access your car. The restaurant was only open for breakfast and the bar/grill stopped serving food too early. The outside bar/grill even was closed one day. Takeout/delivery was a must a couple of nights when we wanted to stay in.

Shopping tip:

Lots of Put Put Golf places. The Boardwalk on the Beach was nice and not too far to drive to. The Outlets were within driving distance.

Compass Cove Resort Hotel
The Hotel has a lot of pools to choose from....the kids have a great time in the pools. The beach view is awesome. Two nights was not enough time to really enjoy Myrtle Beach, I would definitely want to stay longer. I enjoyed Karaoke at the bar and grill on Saturday night and during the week they do have activities you can sign the kids up for. I would definitely stay here again. Now, for the negatives.....Wireless internet did not work at all in our building, the pool towels were always out, ran out of guest parking spaces so had to park in the hotels 15 min check in space for one night, not enough handicap parking, no elevators in the parking garage and the service at the hotels breakfast restaurant was very poor and quite frankly not worth the hassle or price. With that being said......It is a nice place to vacation with kids. The kids loved all of the pools. We stayed in an ocean front efficiency room with 2 beds on the top floor (16) and it had great views.

Money-saving tip:
In Hotel
Bring some of your own drinks, snacks, foods to have on hand as buying these things at the hotel snack bar areas does get costly. Our room had a complete little kitchen so we were able to stock the fridge with drinks, fruit, etc.

Business and pleasure!
A clean and comfortable older resort, but lovely ocean view from our balcony! Great value for an early March trip and we will more than likely return. Also enjoyed a filling and affordable breakfast at the hotel.

Spring Break
The only BAD experience was the lack of wifi as advertised, which includes the lack of cellphone service in our room, both of which we needed for "work". We were told people would be right up to help and they weren't so we had to call again. It was VERY annoying for two days. When we did get wifi, the signal was weak and often cut out. Everything else was excellent!! We have specific names of the people who were awesome to us and we will be writing letters to thank these people.

Fun Family Place
The resturant was very good. Was more family oriented than we were expecting. About as far south as you can get in Myrtle Beach. A rental car is a must unless you plan on paying a boat load for public transportation.
