Had a blast!

Had a wonderful time. Went for the fourth of July. Room was clean. Kitchen was nice. Balcony was a bit small but we fit okay. It was quiet and peaceful, except that the air conditioiner was noisy. The staff was nice to put our dishes away out of the washer, and I think they even washed a few. However, I like to tend to my own dishes. A closer parking garage would have been nice - we both have bad knees. Overall we had a great time. The beach was great as usual. We usually don't use pools or hot tubs during the busy season, so can't comment on those. They looked nice though.

To get to Broadway at the Beach you can go south from the hotel and turn onto 21st avenue, or go north and turn on 29th avenue. Both are within a block of the hotel and go straight to Broadway at the Beach.

Good Stay overall

The room and location are great. We had an efficiency which allowed us to make breakfast and lunch every day there. The bed was amazingly soft. The view from the side of the building wasn't bad, but nothing special. The hotel is located north of the old boardwalk by about a mile, so the road is not full of traffic and it's easy to get to. The beach was, well, pretty lousy. It's not very pretty, kinda grey colored, with lots of broken shells. You just can't walk barefoot there. I know it's not the hotel's fault, but just be aware if you stay there it's not great for beachcombing without flops or shoes. The pools were very small. The place sits on a tiny footprint so it was hard to put big pools in, but there are just a bunch of small pools and a little lazy river. We really aren't pool people, but we tried to soak in one on our last morning there. There were a lot of young guys running around the pool, jumping in next to us, throwing people in and holding each other under the water. Of course there's no lifeguard, but there really was no staff outside of the pool girl to do anything. I can understand teenage boys acting immature and cutting up, but they were pushing little kids and swearing a lot, which made it rather uncomfortable. Other people complained about it, but no one stopped them. Also, the place is supposed to be smokefree, but we saw three people smoking by the pool. If you are going for the beach and a great room, this is a good place. They had lots of events for kids, but I wouldn't want kids out by the pool on that day. Check it out for yourself. It's a nice place.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The hotel has a deal with a dining group on the room keys. You get 10% off any of their places. California pizza (not CPK) is just across the road so you can wander over. But like any other place in MB, it fills up quickly, so go early.

Great hotel!!

We had a great time at the Anderson Ocean Club and Spa. It is close to a lot of restaurants and miniature golf courses. The hotel room was very clean and quiet. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the pool, it was pretty small. Overall, we had a great time and would love to go back again!

Great trip!!

We had a great time here. This was our first time to Myrtle Beach. The hotel was beautiful inside and out. Definitely the nicest hotel we saw. The staff was friendly and helpful for restaurant ideas, etc. The pools were nice and not too crowded and to get to the beach, you only had to walk out the back door of the hotel.

Beautiful but bigger pool area is needed

There was no soap in the bathroom for the shower area and the facilities did not provide laundry detergent for the washer dryer. The rooms themselves were beautiful and comfy but the pool area left something to be desired. There were a ton of kids which wouldn't have been a problem had the facility been bigger. Each time we tried to enjoy they pool, there would be another unsupervised child throwing all their toys and flotation devices in the pool which did not have much room. The Anderson needs to consider expanding their pool deck area to accomodate the overcrowding that happens in this area.

Anderson Ocean Club

The hotel was great overall as far as room set up and having a full kitchen. The problem was you could hear noises from the other rooms. Kids running back and forth in the room above. Television was loud and I could hear shouting coming from next room. You could hear kids running and screaming in the hall at night. This was very annoying when you were trying to sleep. With the hotel being so nice, the insulation between floors and rooms was not very good. Maid service was not great. Had to ask for towels several times. Room was always cleaned very late in the day. Room not vacummed on a daily basis.
