Great place to stay!
This hotel was awesome! And okay, maybe the rooms weren't spotless, BUT this was THE cleanest place I have EVER stayed at on the beach! Period. We stayed in a one bedroom oceanview room - and we really did have a great view of the ocean! Our trip was next to perfect and so much of it was because this place was gorgeous, the rooms were spacious (ALL the rooms, including the bedroom, living room & even the bathroom! It even had a washer & dryer in the room!), and it was in a GREAT location! Honestly 2 minutes from Broadway @ the Beach, and maybe 10 minutes from the new Market Commons, and Barefoot Landing. I can't tell you how impressed I was, and next time I'm going to the beach you can bet I'm coming right back to Anderson Ocean Club & Spa - no question!

Visit the Market Commons area! It was really cute, not overcrowded at all and had some really nice (even upscale) stores. It's not heavily marketed like Broadway at the Beach & the outlet mall, but it's a great find!

we loved it!!
The hotel is beautiful and convenient. We used the pools, walked out to the beach and loved that we could just run up to the room to take a break and get a bite to eat. The full kitchen was a real plus and we also used the washer and dryer for towels and swimwear. We traveled with 3 kids and loved that they had their own bathroom. We plan to head back next year!! :)

Decent stay, nothing spectacular
Check in/Check out was very easy & quick which was nice. Hotel rooms were clean upon arrival but 2 of the 4 nights we stayed we were not given fresh towels and when we brought this to the attention of the staff they claimed they had a shortage of fresh towels available. So using the same towels 2-3 days straight became irritating. THe AC unit is very loud with sort of a clicking noise that does not stop when it is on. The best thing about the trip was Broadway at the Beach. It is located about 1.5 miles down 29th st. Great food, entertainment, shopping, etc. Spent most of our evenings enjoying the atmosphere there. Overall the stay at the Anderson was enjoyable but a few minor things could have made it a lot better of a stay.

Short walk from hotel
Broadway at the Beach includes Margaritaville, Hard Rock Cafe and many other fine dining restaurants. It is a short walk (1.5 miles) but with the weather being hot/humid in mid august I would suggest driving.

I wished I lived in Myrtle Beach
I was on the 18th floor, ocean side. The view was breathless! The bathtub had a jacuzzi, but it looked scrungy and I wasn't about to use it. I was expecting a pool bar - it was a shack that served a few drinks. I was expecting a lazy river - it was a small oval. They had several SMALL pools (they were warm - aka NOT REFRESHING and seemed dirty). I was expecting more, but whatever. Next time I'll stay at a cheaper hotel and just ask for a high room with an ocean balcony.

Great hotel for great price
Decided to spend a little more than usual on a hotel room and I was not disappointed. For the price we paid, which wasn't really outrageous, the ocean view room completely satisfied our needs. Arrived on a Thursday at 3:30 and we were checked in immediately--good thing, we beat the 4PM rush. Had to wait a little bit for the bell boy to have a cart available, but no more than 15 minutes. The bed and pillows were super comfortable and the view from our balcony was awesome. Kitchen came equipped with everything we needed. Whenever we encountered the staff, they were very friendly and wanted know if they could help with anything. The pool area was a little crowded with kids, but the beach was just steps away so we could easily pick-and-choose where we wanted to spend our time. The pool area seems to have some renovation going on, but the pool bar has delicious, cold tasty treats. Would be nice if they had a restaurant--we never ended up trying suggested Magnolia's across the street. But overall a GREAT place, we would definitely go again--next time in an ocean front room.

Sea Captain's House is just a few blocks away right on Ocean Boulevard. GREAT SEAFOOD! You may have to wait, but the backyard deck with bar and band and outside seating area makes the wait go by quickly. A little on the pricey side, but the portions are HUGE. We had dinner and lunch with our delicious meals.

Anderson Ocean Club
The hotel was great overall as far as room set up and having a full kitchen. The problem was you could hear noises from the other rooms. Kids running back and forth in the room above. Television was loud and I could hear shouting coming from next room. You could hear kids running and screaming in the hall at night. This was very annoying when you were trying to sleep. With the hotel being so nice, the insulation between floors and rooms was not very good. Maid service was not great. Had to ask for towels several times. Room was always cleaned very late in the day. Room not vacummed on a daily basis.

Beautiful but bigger pool area is needed
There was no soap in the bathroom for the shower area and the facilities did not provide laundry detergent for the washer dryer. The rooms themselves were beautiful and comfy but the pool area left something to be desired. There were a ton of kids which wouldn't have been a problem had the facility been bigger. Each time we tried to enjoy they pool, there would be another unsupervised child throwing all their toys and flotation devices in the pool which did not have much room. The Anderson needs to consider expanding their pool deck area to accomodate the overcrowding that happens in this area.

Overall good experience.
I was a little disappointed with our stay. The room was nice but the bathroom was not clean at all. It was obvious the tub had not been cleaned at all. The hotel pools were very small and mostly overcrowded. Never saw anyone cleaning them. We liked the kitchen in our room and they did clean the bathroom the next day. Location was good but we would not stay here again for the money.

OK, but not wow!
Pool area is very small to accomidate the large hotel. The pool and pool area needed closer attention during the day for clean up. They need more showers for rinse off from the beach, which would help keep the pool cleaner. Parking deck is also a block away. Nice hotel but not what I was expecting.
