Convenient location to explore Charleston.
I found the stay to be good. The room was clean, the receptionist very helpful with directions to dining locations, and the breakfast selections were plentiful. I cannot think of a better place as a jumping off point to explore Charleston. The only drawback was that they had only one business center computer for the guests. There needs to be more and that computer needs to be upgraded/faster. When I am there to use their computer the last thing I want to do is IT work. One other thing - traffic on Johnnie Dodds Blvd is unbelievable. From Charleston, stay as far left as you can, or you will have a hard time getting into this place.

If visiting downtown Charleston, get to the visitors center area early, like 8:30AM. It is a great starting place. Wait, and parking will be a nightmare.

Great stay
The bedding was fantastic!! Front desk person very professional and helpful. Breakfast was also fantastic for a continental breakfast! Great location for a trip to downtown Charleston and the price was just right. Not a luxury hotel but five star for the price, value and location. Very clean as well.

Good Basic Stay
Holiday Inn Express is a good basic chain when you want a comfortable bed with a clean room. The rooms at this particular hotel were roomier than I expected, clean and comfortable. The hotel is relatively new so not a lot of wear and tear, and now that the highway construction on 17 has moved on, it was quiet and restful. If you are there on business or don't care if you are downtown, this is a very good choice.

Best stay I have ever had anywhere. The entire staff was so friendly and helpful! The room was spotless and modern. I don't have a single negative thing to say. Everything about our stay was a positive experience. Oh wait, ok. The eggs on the breakfast buffet weren't very good.

First timer
Cannot beat the location for the price. Breakfast better than expected. Room was clean and contained all the things you need for convenience and comfort. The only drawback was the construction surrounding the hotel.
