Highlights

Key facts

Situated on the southern tip of Mount Pleasant, Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina Mount Pleasant has a prime location along one of the busiest waterways in the Charleston area. This resort is neighbored by the Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum. You could also take a quick boat ride across the Cooper River and reach attractions in downtown Charleston such as the South Carolina Aquarium.

Breakfast at the hotel is served in The Indigo Grille, which is also open for private catering events. If you opt for fine dining in a waterfront restaurant, take a short walk to the Charleston Harbor Fish House at Patriots Point. The rooftop Reel Bar at this seafood restaurant serves fine spirits along with spectacular views of Charleston's harbor.

Policies

Daily resort fee includes wireless Internet service, trolley shuttle, newspaper, coffee, evening snack, parking and beach activities. Swimming is not permitted in Charleston Harbor, but the Charleston Harbor Resort and Marina has a pool.

This is not a comprehensive list of fees. Any amounts listed above may not include taxes and are subject to change.

Dining

Charleston Harbor Fish House
Waterfront dining is here at the Charleston Harbor Fish House. The cuisine focuses on local sustainable seafood with fresh specials that change daily, based on what the captains fishing the waters of Charleston bring in. The views from the Fish House are like none other in Charleston; you can view the historic Charleston skyline, the USS Yorktown, and the marina from literally every table in the restaurant.
Bridge Bar
The Bridge Bar is located on the rooftop of the Fish House. People come to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Come in the evening to view the most spectacular sunsets in the Charleston area.
Reel Bar
Whether you are hungry for a quick bite or thirsting for a cool cocktail, a visit to The Reel Bar is sure to please. Complete with an impressive display of antique tackle gear, the Reel Bar offers the ideal locale to relax and unwind. The bar itself is made of solid teak which came off an old ship that sank off the coast of Miami. The wood was brought up to Charleston in pieces and was restored for use in The Reel Bar. Amazing seascape views can be enjoyed from the adjoining Sunset Terrace. This is the perfect spot to slow down after a long day of sightseeing.
The Indigo Grille
Serving breakfast only.

Romantic getaway

Would not recommend Tue, Nov 24, 2015
Went to Patriots Point for a romantic getaway. I expected spectacular but did not receive it. Hotel is overrated. I believe there are several other hotels that shine above this one. Paid top dollar for a balcony and a harbor view. The palm trees were so thick and had no maintenance at all. We couldn't see the harbor view at all. That was quite disappointing. Not a bad experience but not as advertised by no means.

Exactly what we expected. Convenient to water taxi and downtown. Bugs were out at the terminal, so beware.

Son's Birthday

Would not recommend Wed, Nov 4, 2015
Staff was great and the location is priceless! The room was old, dirty and the bathroom was like a closet with mold and mildew in the shower. No hand or face soap either, only shower gel soap. Construction everywhere, no door to the beach or pool was open, they were blocked off. I was still charged a resort fee for each night even though everything was taped off. I must say the house keeper did as best as possible each day & the guest services staff were and always are great. I simply think they needed to tell me about the construction before I made the trip from Orlando and certainly don't think a resort fee is appropriate when your resort is full of tape, closed doors to the resort part of your property, and there are no activities. It was just a basic hotel this past weekend.

Don't waste your money

Would not recommend Thu, Oct 29, 2015
I spent eight nights at the resort during my vacation. I was very disappointed in the quality of the rooms. Mold on the shower curtain, rust around the tub, and room was small for the price. We expected to be wowed but the room was similar to many two star hotels. I only bright spot was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. I give the staff five stars. Don't waste your money, many other hotels offer the stay or better stay for less money.

Great Service, But Renovating

Would recommend Wed, Oct 28, 2015
I have stayed at this hotel a number of times in recent years, and the service has always been exceptional. Usually the atmosphere and ambience are top notch also, but if you stay here in the near future, you may want to take into consideration that extensive renovations and repairs are in progress that limit access to the pool and sandy beach areas from the hotel due to roped off areas. Hotel management should consider reducing prices or at least suspending the $12 daily resort fee until work is completed. Aside from that, the stay was good, the service exceptional, and, of course, this is a great location for beach or downtown excursions.

Great place by the water!

Would recommend Tue, Oct 13, 2015
While I did not make it on the days I originally booked, due to the record flooding in Charleston, I eventually made it to the hotel 3 days later. I could smell the ocean breeze and it was a great place to relax by the water. The water taxi at the marina was an awesome and much welcomed treat and much needed after all the driving I had to do to get around the flooding in SC to get to the hotel. The staff was great especially Charles who gave us a clear route to head back north and home. I was not familiar with the area and I-95 was closed so Charles' knowledge of the area was a tremendous help!!

personal retreat

Would recommend Sun, Aug 30, 2015
This was a great get away. I got the solitude I needed yet was comfortable and felt safe. Staff was friendly and helpful. They responded quickly to a balcony door that didn't lock. I loved the beach area spending most of my Sunday afternoon reading a book in a beach chair. The daily treat did make me laugh. Sunday's was beach punch which was basically blue drink mix in a pretty dispenser. Seemed a little cheesy but it was refreshing. Confess I was hoping for a little more. A free breakfast items would have made me feel like I was getting more bang for my buck but I had my own snacks. I was grateful for the little fridge and the coffee maker in the room. The room was cheery - very yellow - maybe why I couldn't sleep the first night. But I enjoyed the pleasant décor. I did find Mt Pleasant a quick and easy drive with everything one could need - eating places, shopping etc. Each morning I went to Sullivan's Beach - great short, pleasant drive (15 min)over. It was all good - would likely go again if I got another good deal.
