Beautiful resort!

Our room was very clean, and updated. The bed could have been softer, and a little better quality. See full review

NEVER AGAIN!!

Firstly, the resort is run by college kids who have no idea how to interact with people. The place is filthy! The lobby floors were horribly dirty and dusty. I never saw a cleaning crew the entire week. The walls were scuffed and scratched. The bathroom exhaust did not work so the room was foggy and uncomfortable. We had to leave the bathroom door open to let out the steam. The pools are horrendous! The main pool is only 3 feet deep and loaded with kids. The pool by the pavilion was closed and I would not eat there as there are flies all over. They charge $11 per beach chair per day. The chairs are old wooden and rickety. The breakfast was overpriced and greasy with the worst coffee. Definately not a four star hotel. The elevator was broken three times during the week and the stairwells looked like a dungeon. This was a very unfortunate experience for us and we will never return or recommend Wild Dunes to anyone.

NEVER AGAIN!

Firstly, this resort is run by college kids. They have no idea what's going on. The resort is in need of a MAJOR rejuvenation. I didn't see any maintenance crew the entire week doing anything but repairing the elevator which was closed 3 times, to only see how dirty and dingy stairs were. the pools are filthy. The main pool is only 3 feet deep and loaded with kids. The beach chairs are old, wooden and falling apart and not to mention that you have to pay to use them at the rate of 11 dollars per chair per day. The outdoor grill are was dirty and loaded with flies. The floors near and in the elevator are disgustingly dirty, and there are scuff marks all over the walls. The exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work so when we took a shower we had to leave the door open as the bathroom would fog up. This is definitely not a 4 star resort. the breakfast was over priced and greasy with the worst coffee. We were disappointed and we will never stay nor recommend Wild Dunes to anyone.

left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing

i liked my first stay (2-years ago) so much that i came back for more with my family. total bait-and-switch. my 2nd trip is a certified disaster. this is a very big resort. big resorts need well-trained staff that can actually orchestrate customer service. unfortunately, wild dunes tends to crumble under the pressure of a full house -- in my case, a holiday week. we checked into a big condo that hasn't been renovated since the Reagan-era (the appliances are sad and the fake floral arrangements even sadder), with dead insects under the furniture and packing tape to cover holes in the screened in porch. we booked a King - the master bed was a Full. there was a new TV in the bathroom but 1/2 of the dishes in the cupboard were crusted with food. we switched rooms, which is a pain, especially with a toddler in tow. and even though a manager assured us that "someone will come help move your luggage and bring you the keys to your new unit" -- that person never showed. they eventually upgraded us to a faux-fancy villa with a scallop-shaped leather sofa that hasn't been cleaned since the early 90's. the manager did take time to personally transfer the crib and even had baby gates for the stairs installed. that was nice. we appreciate the effort. but it can't undo spending 3 or more hours of my vacation on the phone or in the queue of the guest services center watching the front desk reps trying to make sense of the last manager-on-duty's empty promises. there's nothing worse than having to explain yourself over and over again. and they weren't really sorry. i'll bet this stuff happens all the time.

Family vacation

This was a great place to relax and enjoy a family vacation. The room was huge and very clean. Oceanfront with a short walk to the beach. Pools were clean and not overcrowded. Very peaceful and relaxing. We all said we would love to come back again. People at Wild Dunes very friendly and helpful.

Annual trip with high school buddies (from 23 years ago)

Perfect setting, right on the ocean, liked that could walk to the dinning facilities, pool and ocean without driving. Plenty of room in the unit, and plenty of bathrooms. No complaints.

May Stay

This was my second stay at Wild Dunes. My stay last October was good but this trip was even better. The resort staff was great; one of the front desk ladies even helped me with my french homework. I had a lttle trouble sleeping at night due to all the bright lights outside. A thicker curtain would have helped immensely.

We very much enjoyed the condo. It was a long way from the beach, but the complimentary shuttle solved that problem.
