Isle of Palms resort with swimming, golfing, tennis and more on site
The Wild Dunes Resort occupies 1,600 acres of private oceanfront property. The resort encompasses two hotels with two golf courses and 17 Har-Tru tennis courts. Meeting and banquet facilities accommodate up to 300 people and guests have free use of the resort's business center. The Sand & Sea Salon offers relaxing and rejuvenating spa services. The Wild Dunes Resort boasts a family recreation program (fees may apply) and the swim center offering 20 pools provides family fun, too. The resort features six dining options serving a variety of cuisines.

- 1, 2 or 3 Bedroom Resort View Villas
- Privately Owned Vacation Rental, furnishings vary. 1 Bedroom/1 Bath Villa, 2 Bedroom/2 Bath Villa or 3 Bedroom/2 Bath Villa with Resort Views, 5-10 minute walk to the beach. Will have fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room, and a porch or balcony. All units also have Washer/Dryer, AC, alarm clock, cable television, access to all Wild Dunes Resort amenities, and a starter supply of soaps and toiletries. Departure housekeeping service only.
- Village Studio
- 1 King bed with amenities such as: Bell service, valet service, coffee maker, CD/alarm clock, complimentary high speed internet access, full daily housekeeping services, washer/dryer, kitchenette, turn down available upon request.
- Boardwalk Inn Deluxe Room
- Deluxe king or two queen bedding accommodations. Room amenities include nightly turndown service upon request, full daily housekeeping services, in room hairdryer-safe-coffee maker and ironing board. All rooms have flat screen TVs with on demand movies, desk or work table, data port, and high speed internet access in guestrooms as well as WIFI access in the hotel lobby. The Inn is only 150 yards from the beach accessible by a boardwalk connecting the inn and the ocean.

bargain beach vacation
It was actually cheaper to stay at this deluxe beach resort than to stay in a decent hotel in downtown Charleston in January. It's only about 15-25 minutes away from anything in Charleston, and it was so relaxing to come home to the resort and the beach every night. I wasn't facing the beach in my room, but the view of the resort was still beautiful, and I could hear the ocean when I opened up my balcony door.

At Sullivan's Island, next door to Isle of Palms, there is a Poe's Tavern (as in Edgar Allan Poe). Quirky menu and fun atmosphere, especially if you are a literary buff. Also try the fried green tomatoes and corn/bean succotash with crab cake at the Island Grille inside the Boardwalk Inn at the resort. Delicious! For cheaper fare, try Hudson's Market for lunches.

We like to be able to open a window. Else, it was just perfect. The concierge may have had a bad day, all other staff was very kind and helpful. We heard some other guests complaining about construction activities, but our room was very quite and recently renovated.

Wild Dunes Seascape Condo Room 115
The hotel atmosphere was fine; however, I did not realize that we were booking an individual's condo, and that was a problem since this particular unit was not updated, no internet, sketchy cell phone service, and many things in the condo were in disrepair. We thought we were booking through the hotel where things are normally updated.

Great Resort
Overall a great trip. Our only complaint is that this resort was quite a drive for our daily drive to town or to other sites in the area. Granted, the design of this facility is such that you should find everything you need on the the grounds. It was our fault entirely in not picking a place closer to our destination. All in all a great resort if you desire to stay on the premises the entire time.

Great place, something for everyone
I checked in around midnight and was given a 2 bedroom condo which was not what I booked. I went to the check-in desk the next morning and asked to have my room changed and they were very accommodating and made the change without any problems.

Surprisingly relaxing biz convention
Mary & I have never experienced a more professional staff than those we met at Wild Dunes during this past business conference trip. While we were hoping for a least a few hours rest away, some needed peace, quiet, amongst our busy conference stress ladened itenerary we were tasked to, these folks not only met our expectations but exceeded them above any we'd ever experienced. Now folks, that's a LOT 'cause momma Mary is 79 years young and she has traveled far and wide in her few years on our globe! KUDOS to Wild Dunes Resort & Staff

While staying at the resort, check out the Marina Restaurant within a .5 miles drive from the main gate entrance (ask for the Wild Dunes marina and any local can tell you how to get there. Fantastic, locally caught wild seafood, plenty of grub, and a real deal bargain with prices this day and time. Bon appetite

Family Vacation
We wasn't really sure what to expect...When we got to the the resort we was extremely excited actually thought we was at the wrong place for the price that we paid. The value was wonderful. We got a 3 room villa. We had the best time had a blast on the beach & at the resort, hope to return there again soon...Didn't really interact with staff, because we had villa but that is how we like our trips...

Try a Resort
We thought that something was missing. Our stay was pleasant but our expectations weren't exactly met. For the price we thought we should have had a better oceanfront view. The grounds were awesome and the condo was nice but small.

Not much in Isle of Palms. More of a high priced area. Folly Beach not far of a drive is a bit more relaxed and Charleston is close ot area and might be a better place to stay as far as money.

Wild Dunes--Wedding Guest retreat
My room was changed from the Hotel to the Village, next to the main structure. Great ocean view, an upgrade, BUT windows were the non-operable type. No chance to change--hotel packed. Coming from the Missisisippi River area; the sound of the ocean was desirable. A reference was made; 'well you booked on orbitz", which had a negative impact. In the end it was a terrific weekend.
