The price says it all

Just know that you're getting a fantastic rate at a beach front property for a reason. The location is amazing...that's about where it ends. The facilities, including pieces of the room, are falling apart. In fact, my bathroom door had a ingenious carving out of it, so that it could close without hitting on the ill-fit toilet. The staff was friendly but was unable to get towels/washclothes timely. Also, the continental breakfast was about the bare minimum possible. All in all, if you don't plan to spend any time other than sleeping in your room and are ok with it being a bit rundown, this is your place.

A quick beach getaway

This was a great location. Beach was beautiful. Our side view of ocean was also a great view. We were treated to music each night at the restaurant next door. (If you have small children that may not be so good), but we really enjoyed our private balcony location! There was one day our room was not cleaned, but the staff brought us up towels and asked if there was anything they could do. Everyone was nice and accommodating.

There is great food within driving distance on the island...not to mention the many wonderful choices in Charleston, just 20 miles away...great location for both!

Love being right on the beach!!

Really enjoyed our stay at the palms..the staff was so nice and helpful! The continental breakfast was delish!! The pool is on small side but served our purpose for pm swimming because we were on beach all day! Loved the local restaurants that were within walking distance. Isle of palms is a quaint little beach town..just can't say enough great things about this place..only downside is having to pay extra six $ a day to park but that really isn't toO bad in scheme of things...We will be back :-)

Never again

Our room was still not ready at 4:30 p.m on the day of arrival. Dirty linen was piled outside of every door. Furniture is old and worn. There is a strong odor of sewage on the bottom floor that leads to the beach. One positive is that is is right on the beach.

3 day weekend on the Isle of Palms

The location of this hotel is perfect, for someone who wants access to the beach. The staff was very professional. They were helpful in locating various places to eat, during our stay, providing driving directions, when needed. The rooms "with a limited view" were very small (not like the ones featured on the website). Bathroom was cramped for space. The beds were not queen sized (I believe they would be called full or standard). I felt the "off season" pricing was too high & would not consider staying there again, because of the pricing.

NOT worth the money!!!

Definitely NOT worth the amount of money they charge for a night. I would expect a lot more for what we paid. The room was very dingy and outdated. It also had a very dusty smell to it. The bathroom had brown stains on the walls and ceilings. Also, be aware if you get a partial view room that there is a bar next door that plays loud music until late hours, making it difficult to sleep (and in our case getting young children to sleep). The only positive is that you have direct access to the beach (but it is a public beach so it gets very crowded).

Better Than Expected

After reading previous reviews, I was a bit worried about my booking this hotel. My stay, however, was really good. The staff was exceptionally nice and the rooms were neat and clean-good beds and pillows. The hotel is old and a bit run down but is maintained daily. The location is the best. The only real negative was a mildew smell from the AC unit which was a window unit but fairly new. It had a digital control and was very quiet. We had a partial view-balcony room. We hardly used this feature and to many, it may not be worth the extra cost. It did give us the option to leave the door to the outside open for fresh air. I would go back to this hotel again.

Boat House restaurant on Sullivan's Island. Sits on the cut between Sullivan's and Isle of Palms overlooking the bay. Great sunsets and very good food. Somewhat pricey.

Not bad for price on ocean

Does not look like picture, looks run down from outside and hard to find place to park. But room was clean. Staff was friendly. A bit noisy w/construction next door... You have to pay $6 for parking across the street in the lot. The best would be to get room viewing ocean.
