Too Dirty
The Hotel was on the beach which was beautiful, but there was sand everywhere in the hotel. The bedspreds were old and very dirty. There was sand in the bed. The hotel itself was very run down looking. It looks like it has not been painted in a long time. The access to the beach looked like it has never been cleaned. There was sand caked thick on the carpet, and it smelled. The Hotel was not worth $189.00 a night. The only thing I can say that was good, was that the staff were friendly.

Awesome get away on the beach
The Palms had everything I could want in a beach front hotel, sand, water and good weather. The room was spacious and the people were friendly. There are souvenir shops and some good local places to get a meal.

Beach
Older hotel, used to be a Holiday Inn Express several years ago. Great location to everything on Isle of Palms but noisy, very noisy. The rooms are located around a common area that echos and about 7am every morning the kids screaming and doors slamming was quite loud. Have stayed at this location before and will again, the staff is nice and again the location can not be beat. Price was inflated due to holiday weekend, but that is somewhat expected. Walk to shopping, food, bars, shows and beach.

Overnight Get-Away
This visit was our first time to Charleston, SC. In retrospect, we should have chosen to stay in the downtown/historic area instead of the beach. We found the strip of beach unexciting and not worth being away from the main attractions we went to see. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The breakfast was nice to have available - dry cereals, bagels, rolls, breads, juices, coffee, fresh fruit. The bathroom was not as clean as it should have been. There was mildew on the inside shower curtain - indicating that housekeeping is not changing out the liners regularly. Hair on the bathroom floor looked like a fast swipe was all it got.
