Hilton Head Metropolitan Hotel

There was no phone, no clock, no DVD, the tv was small and had a bad picture, very little parking, had to park in a back lot far from the hotel, bad drain in bathroom, and advertised a beachside view, but the view was of a back lot.

Hotel was in decent location and was short walk to the beach. The parking is horrible. You have to park very far away. The elevators and stairs are quite shaky and not in great repair. The rooms are ok. Bed is comfortable. Balcony very tiny. There are no phones in the rooms. Pool was clean and in good repair. The chicago sports bar on the front of the hotel was awesome! This is definately NOT what I expected. It is inexpensive and will do, but don't expect anything amazing. It is like staying at a red roof or motel. You must walk, drive, or ride bikes to get anywhere. Things are very spread out. The general manager was very nice. There was a man that shuttled us to our car on a golf cart when we checked out. It was not available at all times however. The hotel ad says they spoil you with customer service, that is absolutely not true!

If i could give a zero as a rating for my experience, i would.First of all i requested a no smoking room and the room i was given was so stinky that they left the patio door open with the air conditioner on to vent the smell out which did not work . there were flies in the room and we were woken by a guy early the next morning . He walked up on us we jumped up and asked who he was and what was he doing in our room? He said he was the extaminator. Mind you, we did not even call to complain about the smell in the room but i believe that they knew the condition of the room they put me and my family in. you would think that was the worst but no, in the middle of the next night as we tried to catch some sleep because the tv has been cut of on us, we heard this loud crash like noise in the bathroom an we all jumped up again rushed to the bathroom just to find the vent above the toiletseat had fallen of the wall just imagine that noise. The curtain at the shower was so short that when we showered, the floor was floaded with water and we would have to take towels to mop the floor. The towels are so worn out they scratch you when you try to dry yourself with them and mind you there is not even a phone in our room to access the front desk so if you did not bring a cell phone, i guess you tough it out. This was our third time staying at this hotel but this is the worst. I truely enjoyed the previous stays but this last one was a nightmare. I do not know what the problem is but if it is due to change of management, the current management has no business managing, this use to be beautiful hotel. If this is how the rest of the hotel rooms are, then this is a run down place.(We had to check out a day earlier and move to another hotel because we did not want to cut our vacation short).Please; management i am suggesting that you visit the neighbouring hotels. I am sad to say that you have lost my business.

It was convenient and good for the money. It's a little worn down, but everything was clean ad the staff was friendly to me. Parking is sketchy, but My car was fine.

We went down for a golf event and stayed one night--the bed was OK, room was clean, and shower was good, which was pretty much all we used. Really close to everything on the island, would stay there again if we had to

The location of the hotel is great. A short walk to the public beach and shopping area is a plus. The public beach offers bathrooms, changing rooms, and showers. The hotel room accomodate myself and my two year old son. There is a little refridgerator and microwave which is good to have to store drinks and snacks. The hotel room serves my needs. A place to sleep, take a shower, and just to relax. I would like to swim in the pool, but a bit frigthen from the look of it. It didn't look clean, so that was a bummer. I love staying at the pool. Also the pool is small. I was upset about the room due to it smelling like smoke, but they told me their hotel is non-smoking. However, I visits all the floor 2-5, and only the fourth floor does not have a non smoking signs on all the doors. Im a little suspious. By the way I stayed on the fourth floor. I have to open my balcony door to air out the smell. At least they given me febreeze, but it didn't help as well as I thought it would. This is nothing special after all I have stayed in a nice resort before with great swimming pools but trying to save some money for another trip. I probably still go there if money is the issue. I was disappointed that I couldn't access wi-fi in the room. I have to be downstairs. If you prefer luxury, then this is not for you. If you only need the basic to survive, then this hotel could be for you.

Check-in was slow, due to there being only one computer and one employee. The room was clean. There was no phone in the room for emergencies. There was no water one day. This did not affect us because we were already dressed. When we returned the water was back on. Overall the experience was fine and the location was fine. Plan to visit Savannah, Geogia to see or eat at Paula Dean's restaurant.

The ceiling was peeling off and many items were in a state of disrepair. The most bothersome was the state of uncleanliness. Was very disappointed with this hotel suggestion and would not recommend it to anyone!

Hotel was very good for the money, problem was that i was led to believe that Parris Island was only 9 miles from the hotel, when in fact it was 41 miles away. That sucked !. Very nice being close to the beach, Hilton Head is lovely.

THe Hotel was clean, Beds comfortable. They advertised Contenital Breakfast. There was None, not even coffee. There were no Telephones in the rooms. They advertised Kitchenett. Just that Kitchenett. Refrig. Microwave, two burner range. but nothing to cook in or with. (You have to bring your on utensels)We hand Use our Cell phones to call the front desk.Yes This hotel is across the street from the beach. But... You have to walk about a mile to get there. there is no public access to the beach. No Internet service in rooms only in the lobby. Bad cable reception. It is close to many shopping areas and eaterys. ( Hinchey Bar & Grill On Hotel site. We didn't go in) No Access to a computer if you need it bring your own. They are way behind the times. The check in an out on paper. not by computer.(they have a list of room on a sheet of paper and the check the off with a red pen.)Last but not leats. The advertise Oceanside rooms. You can't even see the ocean from this hotel... Only if you are on the 5th floor and get a small glimps thru all the tall trees. Don't expect to use their fitness center either. It do not exsist.
