Hilton Head Marriott Resort & Spa

It was a good choice for Christmas night. The parking lot was almost empty, still we had to pay...

My friend and I went to the Marriott to relax and do nothing. We are both cancer patients and fininshing chemo. We were treated very good. We loved the ocean front room and the location was excellent. We have stayed down close to Sea Pines before by Coligny circle and this was much nicer.My only complaint was paying for parking and the parking was not close to the hotel but it was good exercise. Lighted walk ways on the pool deck floor would be a great added touch. Its very dark. Also the walk ways to the parking area are very slippery after a rain. Some new non-slip strips in tubs are also needed. overrall it was great and we plan to return.Hotel provides very nice shampoo and conditioner and lotion so leave yours at home.

I don't want to say that I hated this hotel, I just wasn't that impressed with anything. The room was ok, food wasn't good, staff was good for the most part, but again, nothing special.

Perfect Hilton Head Location...Oceanfront, high floor balcony.. close to beach--without a long walk through the dunes... .Ask for Main tower as South Tower reportedly hasn't had as complete a renovation--and isn't directly facing the water. Good Marriott quality ; however, room was pretty small-- especially for the money...

Negatives: No AT&T cell service and no free wifi. Not enough outlets for phone charges or computers or hair dryer. Positive: The best beds and pillows. Bathroom nice size and bright. Great location for Hotel. Beach and pools great. Need improvement with updating the hotel, workout out room needs to be bigger although it is better than most.

Very impressed with the hotel accomodations and service. Great family activities and wonderful resort environment. Will definitely return.

We started the weekend with spa treatments, set the tone for the whole weekend...relaxing! The pool service and beach were great, the island offers great dining options.

We couldn't have been happier. The hotel goes out of their way to make your vacation experience memorable. We were greeted everytime we ran into hotel personelle and asked many times if we were enjoying our trip. From the person who checked us in, the consiere, the maids and the towel girl everyone tried to make us comfortable and they went out of their way to be accomodating.

The hotel was in a great location on the beach. I had an oceanview room and could see the ocean clearly from my balcony. The hotel was near several great restaurants, shopping etc. The room itself was comfortable. If weren't for 3 things, it would be a perfect hotel. Issue 1 - The walls of the room was very thin. I could hear every conversation, television, etc of the people in the surrounding rooms. I was on the 3rd floor and could hear the noise and crowds in the lobby and bar. It made it difficult to sleep at night. Issue 2 - The room service food was sub-par. Considering the cost of the food and my normal experience with Hilton Head hotels in the same Hotel Circle, the amount of food was too little and the quality was not great. I would recommend getting food from the nearby restaurants. Issue 3 - The water from the tap had a very strong odd smell, similar to a burning match. It was so strong that I had to keep the bathroom door closed because the same smell was in the toilet water. Otherwise, the staff was very friendly, the hotel was clean and comfortable, and I had a good time in Hilton Head.

The facilities overall were excellent for a resort / Spa; Exercise rooms, Spa, pools, Sauna, beach, dining areas, etc. were top notch. Food was very good; breakfast was pretty pricy. Early bird specials in the main restaurant were good, with a nice selection. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were a bit dated; could stand to get new Flat-Panel TV's, and a better channel selection. We had some sound problems with our next door guest - the walls are "thin", and it seemed like they were in our room. Charging for parking ($10/day), especially when they don't provide airport shuttle service seemed excessive.
