Don't listen when reviewers say its near Charleston! The 2.5 hour ride into the city really messed up our agenda. If you need a historic city fix, choose Savannah. Its less than an hour away and offers similar attractions.

Great Girls Weekend

The staff at this hotel is excellent. They are friendly, but unobtrusive, responsive, never rushed and give excellent ... recommendations on local spots. We spent Thurs - Sun at the resort for a girls weekend. The property is beautiful and flawlessly maintained. We enjoyed the 2 minute walk to the beach, the great restuarant recommendations, and close self-parking options. We only ate one meal on property, but it was very nice. The only real drawback to the experience (and its a tiny one) is the extra fees. The daily required resort fee does not cover valet parking, room fridges, bicycles, or beach chairs/unbrellas. This was a bit of a surprise since most of the caribbean and european resorts we've stayed at have included at least the use of chairs, umbrellas, and bikes as part of the resort fee. I'd rather have a higher daily resort fee and not feel a bit "nickeled and dimed" each time we set out on an activity. In short, we would highly recommend this as a relaxing, beautiful getaway. The nature is amazing, there is delicious dining and shopping within biking or driving distance.

This hotel is just okay. I needs to be updated in a bad way. The room was nice and roomy, but the bathroom was not nice. The ... pool area was not very inviting and the bar outside had awful food. They played loud music all day which was annoying. The hotel food was not worth the money at all. I would not stay here again.

We like the Black Marlin, and also you could ride a bike to alot of places. Shipyard was nice to golf and ride your bikes.

Nothing to do at "resort". The little pool filled with teenagers and little kids to capacity. no availble chairs. Water had a ... tinge of "yellow". chairs had stains. Beach chairs for another fee ( carry your wallet you will need it ) Room had a musty smell and I had requested a fresh room due to allergies. That was a waste of time. Good thing I brought my ventilator could not breath. Locally little to do unless you like burning at the beach or sweating while bike riding. Bring a bke or rent 22 bucks a week. All in all could not wait to get out of there. What a waste of money.

Unbeatable location for the price

When we arrived and went to our room we noticed that we had no view. I called the front desk which said they were totally ... booked and was sorry they could not accomidate our request. A minute later the front desk called back and moved us to a beautiful garden/pool view with a large balcony. We were very appreciative. The staff were all very helpful and pleasant. I would stay here again.

Very satisfied except for the fact that we were offered a view of the pool area for an additional 20.00/per night and the ... there was no view. Two 2 huge oak trees blocked any view. I bought it to the attention of the hotel clerk and she indicated in the map that the room was considered room with a view. Second dissapointment was that the beds were full size, not comfortable enough for two people.

Enjoyed the easy access to the beach and a quiet location. The hotel had several amenities that I did not take advantage of, ... but having the options is a benefit. Relaxing and restful weekend. The staff was friendly and accomodating.

The Crowne Plaza Resort, Hilton Head Island, is a very comfortable hotel right on the beach. The beach is great - wide white ... soft sand, and warm water. Lifeguard is on the beach. We went for a long weekend, and the hotel was deserted due to cancellations for Hurricane Hannah. Luckily, the hurricane hit land in North Carolina and the weekend weather was perfect in Hilton Head. The food in the restaurant in the hotel was OK but nothing special. We ate most meals at other restaurants. The hotel is well maintained, rooms were clean, and staff friendly. We would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a nice hotel with easy beach access, and a convenient location to other restaurants and stores by car.

Crowne Plaza is located right on the beach in a beautiful gated area on Hilton Head Island. Room was clean with a ... comfortable king size bed. There is a fully stocked bar refrig in the room. We would have preferred the use of a refrigerator for our own beverages. Lobby, restaurants and bar were very nice and offered a good selection for meals. Pool area was beautiful and offered bar and snack services. Fitness center was adequate and clean. Indoor pool nice but on the small side. Beautiful walk thru gardens to wide beach. Would stay here again. If you enjoy good restaurants, swimming,tennis and golf, Hilton Head is the place for you. If you are looking for night life to go with the above, look elsewhere.

Very nice hotel, we wanted a quiet hotel( this a mini honeymoon) and we got it...there were a lot a kids running around the ... lobby but at no point this became an issue...Rooms were clean & the bed fluffy...very close to the beach, short walk through the hotel park, passing by the pool...the beach was awsome! Recommend

A staff member at the Crowne Royal Plaza Hotel recommended that we dine at a beautiful restaurant, called the Waterfront, located at the very tip of Hilton Head. The crabcakes were to die for! And what a view!
