nothing special, ok for 1 night location was easy to access

Weekend vacation with my wife in Hilton head, SC. The first impression once we entered in the room, its dirty and have some red stained on carpet. The bathroom was nasty and instead staying there for a night, we decided to drive back home. This was a big mistake for getting this room.

Price for motel was within our budget and great. However, check-in was to be at 3. We got there at 3:15 and told plumbing issues and had to wait for an hour. So, we gave them 2-1/2 hours. We got to the room, opened the door, and immediately smelled old mildew/mold along with bleach. The bleach smell I understood - cleanliness. The other smell never went away. We wanted to use the refrigerator in the room. There was an extension cord that ran from the outlet behind the t.v. cabinet, to use for the refrigerator. However, the electrical cord for the refrigerator was 3 prong, and the extension cord was for 2 prongs. The towel rack in the bathroom was half hanging on the wall. A workman had come in while we were unloading and asked if he could finish the work in the bathroom. He was in there for at least 20 minutes and walked out with the same tools and tub parts he walked in with. There was no way to plug the bathtub for my granddaughter to be able to take a bath. Then there was the television. Outdated. Every channel you could hardly see, and I could find no way to adjust the lighting/contrast. The good... It was clean. But, we will not stay there again. We have stayed at other nearby motels and will probably go back to one of them. We were very disappointed and felt this motel needed some major maintenance/upkeep done to it. Also, we felt they should have put us in a different room if this room was having maintenance done on it.

For the money you get the room for, it's what you'd expect. If you're staying there for an overnight while travelling or working, it's not bad. I need certain basics in my room and Day's Inn did supply them; save for the lack of an ironing board, and they could have used more electrical outlets in the rooms. I think an upgrade or renovation is warranted for the location; but it's value is hard to argue. What do you really need for one night? They do have a pool I hear. :)

Central to Hilton Head Island, SC and Savannah, GA. Adjacent to I 95 so if you don't like noise this is not the place for you. I live in back of a highway so it wasn't a problem for me. Friendly staff.

Got in late, no problem. Very quiet despite I-95 right there. Coffeemaker didn`t work but they replaced it quickly. Shower was fantastic.

Great stay! Actually was in the middle of places that I wanted to visit-30 miles from Savannah and 30 miles from the beach! Plenty of sights in and around the hotel.

Pool was great. Short ride to the beach (real reason I went). Was perfect for the price and wasn't much time spent in the hotel. Wasn't the cleanest rugs but the bed wasn't so uncomfortable.

The receptionist was eating a calzone on the check-in counter when we arrived - not very professional. The surface of the bath tub/shower was pealing/disintegrating but the shower operated okay. Our room was about 30 yards from I-95 with no sound barrier between the motel and I-95 so we heard a lot of highway traffic all night long. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was reasonably good.

This is an inexpensive motel, so you get about what you would expect.... Breakfast is very mediocre, rooms are a bit dingy, but the price was good.
