THE PLACE in downtown Greenville

I have stayed here many times and continue to do so when in Greenville. This hotel has always been nice, clean, and reasonable. There are fancier places to stay, but none any better when it comes to a good down-home place to stay at the most reasonable price for downtown.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Just take a stroll down Main Street and pick a place! I have not had a bad meal in Greenville. Favorite place is "Smoke on the Water", "Sticky Fingers", and any of the Mexican restaurants on Main.

Good location

It's our first time to visit Greenville and also first time to stay at Holiday Inn Express. Greenville is a nice little city, very clean, and people are hospitable. The hotel itself is located near restaurants and park. We would definitely stay here again if our travels take us back.

good location-could use better parking.

The complimentary breakfast could use some help. Other than that, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking in the rear is a little un-nerving.

Stay away!

We love downtown Greenville, SC. We have enjoyed many vacations and business trips to Greenville and will return soon - juts not to the Holiday Inn Express. This was the first time at this hotel and it was a mistake. We have enjoyed staying at the Hampton Inn and the Westin Poinsett. Both were great experiences but we were trying to save money and decided to try the Holiday Inn Express. Upon check in we asked what restaurants were still open and were assured that many in the vicinity were open and were given a list. Nothing on the list was open. Not a big deal we got over it. However when we went to get into bed that night there were hairs all over the sheets. The clerk was very apologetic and moved us to a cleaner room with only one hair (heavy sarcasm here) on the sheet this time. We got over it though. The next night we were using the business center and the printer was not in working order. Since this was a business trip the business center was important to us and our trip. We asked the clerk for help and she stated that she could not help us. We set to work on the printer ourselves and finally got it working. Not 2 minutes later it again starts acting up this time because it is out of ink. I again asked the clerk for help. She was very unprofessional and said she didn't have any ink cartridges and had already told us she couldn't help with the printer. I explained that one of the reasons we were staying there was to have access to the business center and asked what other options we had in the area. She raised her voice and told us "you have no options, everything is closed, there is nothing I can do". To top it off her name tag said [...] and when asked her name she pointed to the name tag and rudely said [...].Upon check out the next morning when relaying the conversation with the morning clerk we found out her real name was [...] and that she had put someone else's name tag on.

Perfect Place to Stay for Bi-Lo Cntr

Extremely clean rooms and breakfast area combined with a super friendly staff made my stay very pleasant. The location is OUTSTANDING if you are attending events at the Bi-Lo Center. You can safely walk there from the hotel. The selections at breakfast were plentiful and overall, the entire experience was great. I'd do it all again in a minute!

It was Nice.

I was in Greenville for a conference with my sorority and this hotel was way cheaper than the Hyatt, which hosted our conference. It was in a convenient location in relation to all the shops and eateries. The room had a weird "smelly feet" smell to it the entire time and we couldn't figure out where it was coming from, but other than that the room was nice and comfortable. The gym was horrible! There were 2 treadmills and 1 bike; only 1 treadmill worked. The cleaning staff were an amazing group of ladies who spoke and talked to you like they knew you; they made the stay pleasant. The pool didn't have any chairs out, but it was a bit chilly compared to Florida, so I was fine.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Grab some food from the Hyatt; it is inexpensive and tasty. Also there is a liquor store, just a short walk up the hill.
