Wingate by Wyndham Florence

There was no water pressure to the shower. None. Also there was a spider web above the bed headboard. The bed sheet was coming off and it was inside out. Advice go to Hampton Inns!!!!!!

The Wingate in Florence provides rooms that are spacious, clean, well kept, and comfortable. The bed was large and comfortable and I got a good sleep. The staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. It's a good place to stay on the drive south on I-95.

Hotel appearance is wonderful. The location is close to the interstate for easy access. I had to change rooms on the second day of the trip because of faulty locks on the room door. I was able to lock the door from the inside however the door did not lock when I left the room. I was not able to secure my belongs in the room so I had to carry some lungage with me. After speaking with three different hotel staff members I was moved to a differnt room with working locks. The third hotel staff member told me that the lock on that door (Room 319) has not been working for the past few weeks. If this is an ongoing issue then Room 319 should not be given to guest.

Convenient to I-95. It was nice.

I stayed 2 nights and the hotel was nice and clean.

Was not impressed with room service. Had to ask for soap and toilet paper. Good location.

Great rooms and restful after a long drive. Great breakfast and easy access to get right back on the journey home.

Hotel does not live up to the Wyndham name. Wireless internet "exists", but signal strength is so weak that you can't use it effectively in rooms. I was told that this is a common complaint and that most guests have to work in the lobby if they are able to work at all. Customer service is non-existent, punctuated with a lot of poor grammar and an unfriendly attitude. For example, when I asked about the wireless AND ethernet connections being non-functional, I was told that "they ain't nobody here thay know nothin' 'bout that". I'm not sure what this sentence means, but I take it that the staff was not interested in my complaint, as they never followed up with me. Be aware that the fitness center whirlpools do not work. The hotel is "sorry for the inconvenience" but not about to offer any compensation. Amenities were not the same as those provided at other Wingate hotels. During my last stay, there were name brand beauty and coffe products in the room; not at this location. During my last stay, my room was thoroughly cleaned each day; not at this location. Bed was made, but that was about it. Finally, I hope you enjoy the sound of trains running right outside your window at night. And I do mean RIGHT outside. Think "My Cousin Vinny". Terrible experience. I would not recommend this to anyone. Stay at the Holiday Inn Express off of the next interstate exit. It's new and the staff actually enjoy talking with people.

i accidently reserved the room a day later than i was supposed to and the hotel mgmt. switched it for me with no extra charge. the beds were really comfortable, but the bathroom was a bit dirty with stains in the tub. good experience in all.

Quick check-in for prepaid reservation; room was already assign. Nice, clean king-size bed room with microwave and refrigerator. Directory in room contained a list of restaurants in the area; we used the list and ate at one of the restaurants having a pleasant and inexpensive meal. We would gladly go back for the overnight next time we are returning from Florida. Florence is a convenient travel distance from Tampa and to our home in Wilmington, DE.
