We’re adjacent to the Florence City-County Civic Center; Darlington International Raceway is just 12 miles and North Carolina Speedway is an hour away; Francis Marion University is just 10 miles away from this hotel. Priced for location not accommodations

In Florence, SC for weekend softball tournament. The price for rooms here has to be for the location not the facility. Very old with just a small office not much else. Given the wrong type of room at first. Given key to another room afterwards that did not work. Received additional keys for second room only to discover there was already someone in that room. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION TO PUT MY FAMILY IN AND VERY FREIGHTENING FOR THE OTHER PEOPLE IN THE ROOM. Website describes a general list of amenities for rooms. They do not all apply - we had no small fridge and there was only one working ice machine. Unfortunately, we were in the very back of facility and it was in the front next to office. Very glad I had coolers for our sporting event - just had to drive up to the front when ice was needed. It is HOT in Florence this time of year. The room itself was somewhat ok, just not worth the rate. We had team families staying at four other hotels and saw much better values first hand.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

The Chili's restaurant on I-20 coming into west Florence is great! We stop here for meals even when we are on our way to Myrtle Beach. The staff does a great job and their menu is wonderful.

Nice enough.....but,

Passing thru...we have dog so look for places that are pet friendly. Very clean, pretty quiet, updated....but no frig, no microwave. WIFI did work (never know). Would stay again, but would try to upgrade to room with microwave/frig.

Get what you pay.

Advertised special rate gets you a room at the back of building on the far opposite end of the Hotel. A response to a request for a better room was, "you get what you pay". Beds need replacement. Reported a potential vent leak from bathroom of adjoining room. Directions should include how to get to the Hotel on service road. Lacks customery Breakfast and/or coffee in the room for Hotels in the area.

Not impressed [...]

I had to wait half an hour (literally) for the front desk attendant to even show up in order to check in. Hotel room was clean - but that is the only compliment I have for it. Common amenities such as a hair dryer were not afforded in my room. [...]

I came, I slept, I left.

Was driving from NJ to Miami and Florence was about half way. Easy on and off from I95 (I20 also). Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Room was very clean and bright. Bed was comfortable. Free coffee (even decaf) in the morning. Had everything I wanted. I'd stay there again.

Red Roof Inn Florence Civic Center

First of all I do need to state that the staff were courteous and fun to talk to. I was given a room away from traffic noise, which made it nice and quiet. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. My complaints about my stay are: -- No refrigerator to keep any beverages/food cool. -- No microwave to heat up leftovers from the night before. -- No coffee maker for first thing in the morning. -- I didn't need the hair dryer this time, but it would have been nice to have had the option. -- No iron, no ironing board to press my wrinkled clothes. --- I stayed at a Quality Inn a couple of days later for the same amt of days. It cost me $30 less and included all of the things that were missing from my room at the Red Roof Inn.
