Excellent value.
I stayed four days and would definitely stay again. I had decided this was the best choice in Florence in my price range after researching online, and was not disappointed. I had a ground floor non-smoking room which smelled fresh and was very clean. The non-smoking rooms opened to the parking lot which was relatively quiet and which looked out onto a farm pasture. Rooms on the other side of the motel looked out upon a pool which was in use and looked clean and was surrounded by a nicely cared for lawn. The housekeeping staff was attentive and cheerful. Most of the desk clerks were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was 6-10 a.m., above average for the “continental” type, with waffles, fruit pastries, bagels, cereal, juice, coffees, etc. There was a desk computer in the lobby for customer use, and I heard customers being given Wi-Fi codes for their own computer use in their rooms. The lobby was cozy with old-fashioned plush leather reading chairs. I liked the location in two ways. The motel was right by family restaurants: a McDonalds with an attached quick mart next door, a Waffle House across the street, and Beijing Buffet two doors down. (Note that the Beijing Buffet no longer serves buffet, just regular menu fare.) The motel is also conveniently next to the most southern of the two Florence I-95 exchanges. From the I-95 exit it is about five miles to drive east into the center of town.

Sightseeing tip:
Short drive from hotel
Note that if you are flying into Florence, the tiny airport is about 5 miles further out east on the opposite side of town, and it closes at night after the last incoming flight. If you need a taxi, I had good service at an excellent price from a local taxi: I forgot the name but the number is (843) 312-1031. If you like libraries, Florence has a majestic old library downtown at 509 S. Dargan Street, one of the best libraries I’ve found in a small town.

Rest for the weary traveler
Overall positive experience. Room was quiet, clean and parking was very convenient. The breakfast was adequate. Some fresh fruit and yogurt would have made it more healthy. Staff was pleasant and helpful. The handout with area dining suggestions was INDEED helpful. Would stay there again.

It does the job at a low price.
This is a reasonable, no-frills place to stay. The room was clean, the wi-fi worked, and the hair-dryer and TV worked, as did the heating system. The room was clean.

Still Works
I always stay at this hotel when I come to SC to visit my family. I really don't have any problems with this hotel. The only bad thing was the last time, I saw a spider in my room. Not sure where it came from but it did scare the mess out of me. I just killed it and went on about my business.

Okay
I don't have anything really bad to say about this hotel. I visit this hotel simply for a place to lay my head when I'm in town. It's a basic hotel located near some stores and a couple of restaurants. The smoking rooms to have a lingering smell, I just use some febreeze and candles. The staff is very friendly like us southern folks are supposed to be.

The really Ugly
The Hotel was aweful! The rooms were in bad shape and the cleaning practices were not good at all. My Adult children were in the room beside us with my grand daughter. They found a USED condom in the dresser and there was mold growing on the coffee table. In our room the carpet was frayed so bad that if you didn't watch your step when you went into the bathroom you stepped on the metal teeth of the strip intended to seperate the carpet from the tile floor. If we would have had the money, we would have not stayed there once we saw the rooms, but being 500 miles from home and no extra funds we had no choice. I wouldn't send my worst enemy there, much less recommend it. I definately learned my lesson the hard way about pre-booking a non-refundable room!

The good, bad and ugly
The hotel was a good location, but the staff was not overly friendly, the rooms were old, and the free breakfast was much to be desired.

Worst hotel I've ever been to
While on a cross country move, we chose this hotel because it had good reviews and was pet friendly. When we arrived, check in was fast but as soon as we got to our room we were suprised to see how unclean it was. The room was filthy to say the least. There were stains on the sheets, cracks in the walls, feces dripping down the toilet. Our room was right next to a McDonalds dumpster and a trash can that had trash on the ground next to it stinking up the area. There were giant roaches all over the walk ways and the building. The hotel appeared to be next to some sort of farm or something of that nature because the stinch of manure was overwhelming. It literally smelled like a petting zoo. To top it all off, later on we discovered bed bugs! We had had enough so we immediately contacted the front desk. They were going to give us a new room but we were so disgusted that we decided not to stay and asked for a refund. [...] I would never in a million years stay at this hotel or any Days Inn ever again. The lack of sanitation is quite disturbing and disgusting and especially the fact that they are willing to subject innocent customers to such conditions and the price we paid was outlandish for such a place. It was worth less than half of what we paid. What a rip off! I am very confused how this hotel received good ratings and even more so that it is still in business. This hotel is an absolute disgrace! I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
