Ft. Jackson 3 miles. William Brice Stadium 6 mile, State Fair Ground 6 mile, golf courses nearby, walking distance to rest. State Parks nearby. Hot breakfast now being offered MONDAY through FRIDAY. Saturday and Sunday is deluxe continental breakfast.

The truth

Arrived at 3AM after a long drive. The room was clean but smelly - like an old smoking room. We left the room 4 hours later to get to Fort Jackson but the steps were like walking on greased ice. It had rained and the steps from the second floor were painted. Despite seeing how slippery the steps were, two out of four of us fell as well another guest that we saw. As soon as we returned in the evening, we checked out and found another hotel nearby that was truly excellent (Comfort Suites) and cost the same as Quality Inn. This was my first experience with calling Orbitz for a hotel recommendation in a new area and I doubt that I will repeat the experience.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

O'Charleys was an excellent dining experience. Aproximately 10 to 15 minutes down Two Notch Road (towards the valley).
