Spotless property

This hotel easy to get to from I-20 on the east side of Columbia. The rooms are newly updated and spotless. The pool is also spotless and in a place that's not visible from non-guests. The hostess checking us in was cheerful and efficient. I've stayed in this property before and it's even nicer than before because of the renovation.

Noisy hotel

This was the loudest hotel I've ever stayed in -- the noise from the road combined with the noise of doors opening and closing on the floor, the floor creaking from someone upstairs walking (and the floors creaking whenever I walked), and the noise of showers and toilets flushing to make it hard to rest in such a clean and well put together room. The staff was fantastic -- so nice and friendly, and the breakfast was pretty good. The location, right by I-20 was good for my morning meeting, but the noise of the highway was overwhelming. It seems like they could have taken a few extra steps during construction to protect against that inevitable noise.
