Comfort Inn & Suites Ft.Jackson Maingate

Great experience! Very courteous staff quick check in with all information already on hand. No needless paper work.

Reserved at this hotel because of the fact that it was close to Ft. Jackson. I had received wonderful service as soon as I checked in until the time that I checked out. The only thing that I really didn't like was the fact that it was advertised that there was an Atm inside and there wasn't one at all. Other then that, a wonderful experience.

The staff were very friendly. When I approached the desk because there were no sheets to make up the sofa bed, the ones I was handed were fresh from the dryer! So warm and cozy. The room was clean, the beds extrememly comfortable. Very nice and well worth the money spent as three of us were very comfortable here.

We were there to watch my son-in-law graduate basic training at Ft. Jackson. When we got there we called the front desk for basic directions from the airport. He put me on hold for at least 5 minutes and then could not accomodate us do to the fact he had "5 guests waiting to check in and he was the only one there". We found our own way- through the help of the rental car map. When we finally arrived the key didn't work for my room. He tried to re-set it but it didn't work. He realized the lock was broke. He told me that they couldn't change my room because they were booked (a fact that apparently escaped whomever did the scheduling because they only had one person working that night). At 9:30 pm we were told he would call the maintenance man to come and fix it. I was told at 10 pm that he couldn't come until 11 pm and would I be up. We had to get up early the next morning but I told him I would wait up. I waited until 12 am and no one came to fix it. A storm was brewing outside and the electricity went out. I called the front desk to make sure they had back up power and to see how long it would be out. I also asked about the maintenance man. The woman at the front desk told me she knew nothing of a maintenance man and that he "may have gotten into a horrible accident out in the storm". She was horribly rude. She never apologized or tried to rememdy the situation. Instead she continually made excuses for why things weren't done. The room itself was filthy. There were hairs when we first walked into the bathroom. The bedspread looked like it had never been washed. The "fitness center" was a joke. It had two machines. The pool was a puddle. It couldn't accomodate 2 families- much less the five that were trying to use it. Also, this was not "main gate". It was a trek from the main gate of Ft. Jackson. The name is very misleading. I DO NOT recommend this hotel. If you are going to visit Ft. Jackson there are many more nicer ones much closer.
