Graduation

The room had a mildew type odor; the power went out while using the hair dryer. I couldn't finish drying my hair. Breakfast was fair. They were out of napkins. I stayed in this same hotel 6 years ago and I haven't wanted to return to it because the rooms had that same odor and the carpet feels damp. This time I stayed because it was the closest place I could find. Graduation is a busy time and it is hard to get a good close place to stay.

Great stay for the price

Stayed @ this hotel and it was better than I was expecting. Rooms are in slight need of some cosmetic work, but otherwise in very good condition and clean with no smells. Beds are fantastic and comfortable. Good pillows. Nice pool. Good breakfast with cereal and waffles. No fruit. Will stay there next year when back in this area. This time we got more than we paid for.

Clean, Convenient and Cheap

The University Inn (formerly the Ramada Clemson) is a clean and convenient hotel that is not extraordinary in any way - good or bad. For a very reasonable price, you get a clean room with a comfortable bed and a working shower. The hotel is decidedly "no frills", but what do you expect at this price? I would stay here when traveling alone, but might think twice if traveling with my girlfriend.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The restaurant attached to this hotel is actually one of the nicer restaurants in Clemson.

extremely dissappointed in price paid for room vs the comfort i got. No fridge or coffee in the room. coffee pot was there but couldnt get coffee. breakfast was ok but on sunday, staff was taking down breakfast early for some reason. a lot of guest not able to get food. Small rooms, old tubs, soiled spreads were just some of the problems. staff not overly excited about complaints. will pay a few dollars more next time to stay in a better hotel.

Convenient is about the only positive you can say.

Cust svc prior to my arrival should have been a warning of the state of affairs at this establishment. I booked a non-smoking, King Bed room online for over twice their normal rate JUST b/c it's a football wkd. Then I call ahead of time to confirm (thankfully!), only to find out their system had me down for exactly the opposite. For a non-smoker who prefers to share the same bed and have the xtra space w/ their partner, I KNEW this was a mistake, but then the guy had the audacity to argue w/ me that his system HAD to be right, so it must have been my mistake and there was nothing he could do. THANKFULLY, the people working the desk when I arrived had more tact (and intelligence evidently), as they were able to rebook me in the type of room I originally requested. The linens, carpet and most amenities were outdated and should have been replaced. The bathroom had been updated, a little, but the whole place needs help. Just beware of what you're getting!

Not bad

This place needs a little work but overall was not bad. Orbitz advertised the room as having two queens but they were actually fulls. The room was missing a couple of washcloths. The air handling system was a dated and hard to get to stay at a comfortable temp. The beds were very comfortable. The room was clean. The staff was very helpful. Value was average considering it was a football weekend. Location was OK with a minimal walk to campus and downtown. The restaurant on site was very good although the hours could be extended a bit especially for a game weekend (4:30pm-10:30pm). With some room remodeling it could be a very nice stay.

Decent

Room was clean. We had 2 TV's in the room for some reason, but only one worked. Close to campus/downtown, so easy access to everything.

It was very expensive for what we got. The room was dirty and had not been updated in years. The carpet was dirty.
