OK--needs help

Room was adequate, but bathroom was sad Holes in the walls and cracked door. The location was noisy and you could see daylight all around the entrance door. Breakfast was the bare minimum

Clemson 12/31/10

The staff was great, from the maids that cleaned the room to front desk that replced my keys when they got wiped out. This was a trip that I would have liked to cancel as something happen that would have been better not to have stayed in the area. I did do some shopping in Helen,GA and visited the tartan museun at Franklin,NC.

Not so impressed

1st room: King bed. Room was "OK"--just "OK". We showered and changed and went to the musical our daughter was in at a theatre in Anderson--returning to the room around midnight. It was chilly, so we turned on the heat---it immediately set off the smoke alarm and smelled like burning urine!! HORRIBLE!! The toilet was stopped up and nearly overflowed. So we called the desk. At first we were told there weren't any rooms, but quickly he said let me see (pause) then said we could move to another room with 2 queens. After several minutes, he came with a key. He really wasn't expecting to smell anything in our room, but when he stepped into the room, he said something like "whoa! it does smell!" Got into the new room. Again, an OK room. Beds are really hard!!! Other guests noisy until about 2:15am. Second night, the other guests were having a beer party---some sort of men's sports team. They were yelling profanities until close to midnight. Lots of knocking on doors around our room--an even on our door. Breakfast was pitiful--Saturday AM there were only a couple bagels, no milk, and cold cereal. Sunday AM was a bit better with some donuts, sausage biscuits, & muffins. Very unfriendly sign on front door stating "Don't track mud into the lobby." But nothing anywhere in sight to get mud off your shoes if there was any on them. Don't think we'll stay there again.

Serves it's purpose

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for the Miami homecoming game. The room was okay. The beds were comfortable. The rooms have strange lighting and the shower water fluctuated. I have stayed at the Sleep Inn before and I think that is a better option.

Calamity at the Days Inn

After awhile, I thought maybe that we were on Candid Camera! When we got to our room, it was hotter than Hades! AC was not turned on. We cranked it up and waited and waited. It was not blowing cold air. Called to be moved to another room, and were told that one was not available. We asked for fans, and they agreed to bring them. When fans didn't come, we called back and were told that they had given out all of the fans. We requested that they go buy us one. After awhile the phone rang, and a lady said we had two options: they could either go buy us a fan, or they could move us to another room. Duh! We wanted to be moved to another room in the first place. They said it would be about 30 mins. My friend decided to take a quick shower. When she came out, she had just put on a night gown when the door flung open, and a lady who had been given that same room, and key card walked in. She was horrified to say the least! We called the front desk to tell them that someone had walked in on us, and they did not seem all that concerned. In the meantime, [...] the AC man called to say that he was coming to replace the AC unit, and that it probably would only take him 30 to 40 minutes. We told him that we were not sitting there while he tried to fix AC. We finally were moved to another room, and went out to a nice dinner. Whew! The next day we spent the day at Clemson helping daughter move in. When we got back around 7PM we pulled up, and a man came from the office, walked to our door and started putting the key card in and trying to open the door. I got out of the car and told him that he must have the wrong room, but he did not. They had given out our room again! He was apologetic and went back to office to correct. Our cards no longer worked, so had to go back to office also. Girl just kept saying that the computer checked us out for some reason. [...]

Friendly service and clean room

Only five minutes away from Clemson University. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and large. Standard amount offered for the free breakfast and was enough for me! Would definitely stay here again.
