Awesome retreat for couples

Beautiful hotel, with character. Stylish, tranquil, great food and amenities. The only thing missing, particularly for an August getaway, was a pool (Charleston get crazy hot). I am sure any other date you wouldn't even think about it. Gorgeous place.

Nearly flawless stay in downtown Charleston

Best hotel in Charleston, and my wife and I have stayed at nearly every hotel in the HD. Nearly flawless. Rooms were perfectly suited to a couple, not too large and not too small. Bathroom OK size. Furnishings were top tier and made the room a gem. Staying at Zero George is halfway between staying at a B&B and a full service hotel. You definitely have a full service hotel at ZG, but with a homier and more community centric vibe. Staff goes out of way to help. My only "tip" or caution would be that, for a first time Charleston visitor, it is a tad on the fringe of the HD. It's a good 10 minute walk in either direction to find "the action"--i.e., East Bay/Market/King/etc. For someone who knows the city well, this is a great location (easy walk to Harris Teeter, for instance).
