Terrible

Room smelled like paint fumes. The staff was not apologetic and did not offer a refund. I have no idea how this place is a "4 star" hotel. You can't just cram people in some renovated warehouse, and put some suites on some college kids and call it a fancy hotel. We literally got sick with a headache and nausea after an hour in the room and just packed up and left, without a place to sleep for the night.

Fantastic staff, location, and ambience

Stayed here for a second time and cannot be more pleased. The main lobby has been remodeled since our first stay and it is event better. How fun is it to stay at a hotel with real keys! I don't think that I have ever stayed at a hotel with such pleasant staff. Doormen are always there to open the door and help with your luggage, the desk staff is incredibly polite and helpful, and the cleaning and maintenance staff are always polite and cheerful. Since it is in an older section of Charleston, the hotel itself is not a monolith with many interchangeable rooms. They are practically all different, well appointed and comfortable. I just really enjoy this hotel and its proximity to everything that is great about Charleston.

A great weekend getaway!

We had a wonderful stay at the Vendue. Our first impressions were great, the staff was very helpful with our baggage and made sure we had everything we needed. There was coffee every morning at 7am sharp, wine and cheese at 4pm, and milk and cookies at 9pm, all complimentary. The location is perfect, right off of East Bay Street, nearby to several great restaurants and the market. Our room was always cleaned with fresh towels each time we left the hotel and came back. The price was in range of what most of the luxury hotels went for in the area and was worth it. We will definitely return to the Vendue!

Excellent staff attention and location

The staff and concierge were always available and very helpful. They did a great job booking reservations for meals, tours and general local information / directions. We will certainly use this hotel again. The roof top bar / restaurant is a great place for cocktails in the evening,

The restaurants in Charleston are excellent, including the one in this hotel. The number of excellent chefs in Charleston has created a high level of competition to the benefit of all who travel there

Lovely hotel with great service

The Vendue gave us a wonderful room and provided top-notch service throughout our five night stay. Bed (in the concierge king) was amazing -- honestly the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. Cleaning services were thorough. We utilized hotel valet for our car and always received our car within a few minutes. Location is less than a block from the waterfront and an easy walk to everything downtown. All in all, a great hotel and a great value. Highly recommend.

Brilliant

Everything perfect, especially the helpfulness of the staff. We were a little disappointed that breakfast wasn't included but everything else about the place impressed us. Have stayed in 4 other places and this was the best. Lots of special little touches! Will definitely return.

GREAT Hotel!

My experience at the Vendue was one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. The staff is EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. They took my bags right away and dropped them off in my room since my room was not ready when I arrived. The room was very nice and spacious. The rooftop bar was the best part of the hotel. Amazing views of the city especially at sunset. I do wish the hotel had a pool but that would be my only complain Other than that the location is perfect. A great place to stay for a long weekend to really get a true sense of the "Southern Charm."

Great little hotel

Our original room was close to a very noisy elevator, but the staff was incredibly kind in moving our room to a quieter location. They say they will be fixing the elevator soon. Great amenities including complimentary refreshments, and wine and cheese hour. The bikes were great- we loved using them to ride all over town. Perfect location to many wonderful restaurants and the waterfront park.
