Great Boutique-feeling hotel

Wonderful location. This is a great spot to walk to everything in historic downtown. Rooms were on the small side but clean and stylish. The building is gorgeous and seeped in Charleston charm. Staff were very nice as well.

Great Hotel, Great Vacation

The location of this hotel is great. It's very close to all the downtown tourist attractions as well as fine dining restaurants. The pool is a great ammenity to this hotel especially during the humid Charleston summers. Noone likes paying $20 a night, but if you are staying in historic downtown Charleston, that should be expected at any hotel.

DON'T STAY AT THE MILLS HOUSE!!

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! they have the worst service! [...] Avoid this hotel at all costs! They collect their money from you and if something happens with your travel plans, they absolutely won't work with you or be at all accomodating. With so many nice hotels in Charleston, don't stay here!

Mills House

The hotel was in a great location for walking to multiple locations. Hotel staff could have been more helpful at times. If you're looking for a place that offers some type of breakfast or continental breakfast items this isn't the place. Coffee was offered outside of the bar during our last day. Rooms were small in comparison to the Francis Marion Hotel where we stayed the first time in Charleston. Thought the Mills House would be a better experience; however, we both felt that FM would have been much nicer even though we would have had to walk a little further to places we wanted to see.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Try to stay away from valet parking. If you can find parking on the street it's worth it. We ended up taking our car out of the valet and parking on the street for our last day there. If you plan on doing valet or a parking garage then plan on spending at least $25 more a day a day onto your vacation budget.

Mills House Charleston, SC

I have never stayed in Charleston before - this was a pleasant surprise. The staff was helpful especially the bus/valet people and front desk. The waiter I had was also very friendly.

Real quality, Class, Location & Service!

The ambiance and service is what you look forward to when traveling. From the front door you feel special. The location is great and within walking distance for shopping, great resturants, even watched the ships come in. Love the outdoor courtyard area. The service given by the host and waiter, even in late afternoon was superior. Will definitely return, because part of visiting Charleston is staying at The Mills House. Cannot imagine any other. Would highly recommend!!
