Great one night stay

We booked this hotel last minute and though a little on the pricey side we thought the lobby and the whole ground floor (bar, sitting rooms and outdoor patio) were really beautiful. Our room was also very nice, clean and decorated in calming blue colors without being dated. The bathroom was small but as we were there for one night not a big deal. I saw a lot of negative reviews on this hotel but after staying there we were very pleased and definitely go back. I don't know if the hotel was recently upgraded or there is new management but regardless we had a great one night in a nice hotel in the heart of downtown Charleston!

Beautiful in downtown Charleston

This was my second time in Charleston and during my first trip I fell in love with this hotel just by walking through it. I was pleasantly surprised to find such a decent rate my second time through. Great staff. Beautiful/clean rooms and atmosphere. Will definitely be back!

housekeeping a problem

Beautiful lobby and restaurant, garden, marred by dirt on the louvered bathroom stall doors, failure of room staff to take dirty glasses, wipe the edge of the marble vanity, pick up garbage from previous guests tangled in the phone cord behind the can....Perfect location

Quaint little spot

The hotel was great and location was prime. The only issue was after trying to reach the concierge at the hotel several times in the two days we were there (during working hours) we were never able to reach anyone. Otherwise nice little spot !

Great long weekend

Stayed here for a long weekend in Charleston. Great downtown location allowed us to walk nearly everywhere in the city. Room was clean and comfortable. Concierge was friendly and helpful. They did mess up our room service order the morning of our departure, but other than that, it was a great stay.

Location, Location, Location

The hotel is quite nice but it was the location in the center of this walking town that was great for us. We only got the car out of the parking garage on one occasion.

First time to Charleston

Location is great, could walk to basically everything in the historic district. Unfortunately, the staff was not consistent. "Maggie" and some of the bell hops were bright spots. Sadly, some of the people at the front desk were not very friendly. Bed had a rut in it. The climate control did not seem to work quite right. Minor noise issue with next room, I guess maybe from having a door connecting with our room. On the plus side, our room and bath size were good, and were comfortable and clean. Overall, I guess it was a good stay, but not ideal.

A Charleston Charm

Great location, this warm and cozy hotel has plenty of the charm and Southern hospitality that makes Charleston a special place to visit. Amenities without the glitter, great service without being pushy, this is a comfortable home base while seeing the Charlestion sights. Room wasn't spacious, but beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Great value!

The place to stay if you love the historic downtown

A reminder of the old prosperity and elegance. A positive continuum between the old city and the place of rest at the end of the day. Don't anticipate disappointment!!

The Charleston Experience

The hotel and amenities were fine, but the best thing about it is its location. It's within a 10-minute walk of many great restaurants, all kinds of shopping, the Market and much more. If you're a walker, lots of interesting old neighborhood streets close by. The price was quite reasonable compared to other hotels in the immediate area. It's owned by Holiday Inn, but has a very different "feel" to it and there are no Holiday Inn signs or logos to be seen.
