Charming old hotel in good location in city
Friendly, helpful staff. Older hotel with lots of character. Good location in historic district within walking distance of harbor, restaurants, city market, and historic homes. Complementary continental breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese were very good. Would stay here again.

Great Location, Great Staff, Great Stay
This was our first trip to Charleston, and we picked this hotel due to the price and location. We ended up loving this charming hotel! The location could not have been better, we walked to everything! The staff was wonderful, and helped us with every question we had, and made great suggestions on food and site seeing. The included breakfast was plenty to start our day, and the evening wine tasting was a highlight everyday!

Great Escape
Excellent location.Able to walk to all historic destinations and most restaurants. Was in town for Cooper River Bridge 10 K run. Parking in town was at a premium so having private parking at hotel was very nice. Room was cozy but very nice and very clean. Having option of having breakfast delivered to your room each morning is great and personal alternative. Hotel is tucked away privately in the city with gardens so it feels like a secret garden getaway.

Decent historic hotel for the price
One must put a review in perspective when staying at an authentic historical hotel. Room was somewhat small, but clean and nicely furnished, period decor, Our room had a good view of King Street. Hotel is nice, but could use a little renovation. Located in the heart of many interesting areas of old Charleston. Staff very friendly, Dining area nice, service good. Parking lot spaces very small, lot crowded, shared by several other hotels. Hotel guest must absorb the daily parking fee, parking pass is billed through the hotel. Overall, Hotel is a good value if you want to stay at something other than an out of the box hotel. I would stay here again.

Loved the setting
We enjoyed the city by walking and then taking tours. This is the most beautiful and clean city we have visited. Compliments need to be given to the city for making such a safe place to be when exploring.

Great Location!
This hotel was in a great location! We were able to walk anywhere from the hotel. I am from NC and had never been to Charleston, the staff was very friendly and helpful telling us directions. I was very pleased with the quaint and comfy room...just enough for a newlywed : ) The only con- you can hear everything that is going on inside the hotel..very loud.
