solid hotel

the rooms are huge, the staff is fantastic. I'd recommend a room off the ground floor, our ground floor room had a tiny window and felt a little like a basement. I didn't love the location, it was about a 15-20 minute walk from the tourist area, but I am sure some people would love the location.

Not what I paid for

Booked a king suite, given two double beds in an old dorm. Front desk said their was a leak in the king suite and that was the only room available. Staff was very apologetic and urged me to let them know if they could do anything for me. At checkout I brought this up and was told "I'm not calling you a liar but it says you booked 2 doubles on Orbi**." My cheap tickets.com email confirmation clearly says king suite. Complimentary drinks were nice at checkin

great location

Hotel was in a great location to all things going on. Some hotel staff were very polite and friendly but one was slightly rude when we were needing our can brought around. The sofa bed mattress was extremely lumpy and uncomfortable, as if a child had been jumping on the bed. Regular bed was comfortable. Lots of loud construction noise outside early in the morning.

Location can't be beat!

For a family of 4, with 2 teenagers, it's hard to find hotels that have enough space without paying for separate rooms. Rooms here are very large and comfortable. Best feature is the location as it's right in historic Charleston. So much within easy walking distance. Very friendly and helpful staff. Free wifi and breakfast . Only cons are that the pool is small and the parking is $20\night.

Not cheap, but perfect location

My sweetie and I took an impromptu mid-week getaway to Charleston and booked a room at the Embassy Suites Charleston via the app on the drive over. We picked it because of its location (ideal to experience historic downtown Charleston) and he's a Citadel alumn so there's a personal connection (the building once housed the Citadel and the recognizable architecture remains intact). It's pricey, but very comparable to others nearby and the facility itself is impressive, rooms are clean and well appointed, staff is courteous, breakfast and wifi are included, and ($16) parking is available nearby.
