Nice play to stay for the money

15 minutest from Historic Charleston and did not have to take out a second mortgage, just to pay for the room. Basic breakfast but got you going in the morning. Clean and pretty well maintained. Right on the 4 lane but the window air\heat unit blocked out any street noise. Nice marsh view. Would definitely stay here again.

What a Trip!

This has become our "relaxation hide out"! Because I love this place so much and want to share it,this was my 3rd trip here this year! We have brought new family twice to stay and they share the same thought we do-this place is great. Free breakfast(awesome I might add), clean rooms and a breathtaking sunset view of the creek. What more could you ask for! Can't wait to visit you guys again in the fall and do some shrimping off the dock.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

The hotel is barely 5 miles into uptown Charleston where you can see the city, enjoy great food, or maybe go on a tour. There's plenty to do and it is really not that expensive when you consider this is one of the most visited vacation spots there is! History buffs will be captivated by the tales of love and war. Major points of history here folks!

Comfortable Stay

I needed a low budget place to stay in the area where I need to be, to continue my trip. Check-in was easy and fast. Overall room and bed were clean, the bed was very comfortable, there is wifi, a microwave, a hairdryer, and ironing board and the iron in the room, all I need is there. I did not expect breakfast to be great, it was ok. Overall, definitely worth the money.

Nice for two night stay for a man

I needed the basics for a bottom price; an easy accessable location; wanted coffee and breakfast; wanted free internet connection. Would not take my wife or family till upgrade in towels and linens and bathroom amenities. Pretty lowcountry natural suroundings. VERY nice staff and office.

Disappointing but not gross.

The Land's Inn motel frankly disappointed us. I knew going in that it was a budget motel and probably shouldn't have had high expectations anyway - but it was more of a dive than I expected. However, let me point out some good aspects before the bad... The view out over the marsh was great, the grounds and area were decent and safe, and outside the room we had a great time. The room, however, had two fatal flaws which had me ready to move (but we didn't since we were only there 2 nights and having booked thru Orbitz we were told we would have to go back to Orbitz for any refund). First and foremost, when we walked in, the overpowering odor of anti-smoking deodorant was so strong we could barely breathe. Oddly enough, by the second day (we didn't allow the room to be "cleaned" and thus the deodorant wasn't reapplied - thank god!) it had cleared up and there was no "smoke" smell at all. Highly advise them to STOP using that stuff! I have to think that the smell of stale smoke couldn't be as bad as that. Second, the sheets were not very clean. I'm not saying they hadn't been washed - they probably had - but they were stained beyond what a washing could handle. Nothing TOO terrible but the one part of the room I have to expect to be clean is the sheets/blankets. A couple cigarette burn marks on the tub were also evident, which is a shame as it's obvious the rooms had been renovated not too long before and for this I can only sympathize with the owners. Nothing they could do about it short of removing the obviously new bath completely. No bugs seen during the stay though, and in fact we had the best time in Charleston dispite the motel - however it was the low point of our trip and if I had it to do over I'd choose a better one.

Not very impressed

When my fiance and I arrived at the hotel it was after 1 AM. We were greeted by a woman running the front desk. She unlocked the door for us and was very friendly and explained when the continental breakfast was offered in the morning. We then went to our room, exhausted after a 16 hour drive. The room itself looked satisfactory, however upon entering the bathroom and sink area, it was clearly not sanitary. The sink had pieces of hair all over it and the counter, as if a man had just shaved his face and left the hair there. I then went into the bathroom and noticed as I walked in, that the floor also had hair on it. When I shut the bathroom door I was appalled! There was a pair of womens underwear hanging from the hook on the back of the door! They were absolutely disgusting. To describe them to you would quite possibly make you sick to your stomach, but they did look as if they were stuck to the hook! My fiance called the front desk first thing in the morning to explain our findings and ask that when the housekeeper came to pay special attention to that area. Later that day we came back to change and found that the room had been cleaned and the nasty underwear removed. However, the next day we left our room at 10:45am. When we left I personally took the "DO NOT DISTURB" sign off of the door and placed it on our dresser. There was even a housekeeper standing in front of the door next to ours and she watched me remove it. Well when we returned around 6pm to change and shower, we found that our room hd not even been touched! The room was not cleaned, there was food in the tiny garbage cans still and we had no clean towels, to say the least. It clearly had not been entered by the housekeepers. My fiance, this time went to the front desk to ask what had happened and tell them we needed clean towels. The girl behind the desk began to argue with him and told him that we had our "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on the door ALL day! He even told her that the housekeeper was standing next to me when I removed it as we left! She then informed him that they do not clean rooms at that hour and we would have to wait until tomorrow now. And then told him that she did NOT have ANY clean towels to give us. After my fiance argued with her and told her that I was in the shower and needed towels, she then said that she could not go find any because she was busy. So he looked at another employee that was standing near by and said "What about him?" That is when she finally said, "I will go find you some towels but it is going to take me about 15 min." Needless to say I was not very happy by the end of that day. This was very unacceptable to me, and it seemed as though our opinions or concerns did not matter. I have never had a problem at a hotel that was not able to be resolved satisfactory until this experience. I have to say that I was very disappointed and will not stay there again. It is really too bad too, because the hotel pricing was not unreasonable and the location was great. It was near the end of a busy area with a nice little water/fishing spot and pool. It was close to any gas stations, mini marts and restaurants as well as only about 6 minutes from where we were visiting friends! But the experience just was not worth another try.

If you like cat urine, you'll love this place

Lands Inn, Charleston, South Carolina smelled bad and after burning three sticks of incense the smell was back the very next morning. But worse than that there was a strange greasy substance smeared all over the ceramic tile floors in the bathroom and one step off the carpet toward the sink and I almost flew into the air and landed on my back. Normally you'd get 4 bath towels, but they only gave us two, one of which I had to use to try and mop up whatever the greasy substance was. It did no good, so I resorted to bringing the big, rough-textured welcome mat in from the front door and laid the towel over that so it wouldn't hurt our bare feet if we had to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. This is not a great place to stay. I wish it was, but I really don't recommend it.

Our reason for staying here is that it was the closest available hotel to Edisto Beach (52 minutes drive) and Edisto is very much worth a visit!

My review of Lands Inn

Upon check in, the clerk was most gracious and pleasent. When my family and I got to the room, the first thing we noticed was the floors were damp in the bed room. The next thing was the bath room, it was not cleaned and sanitized. The bath tub was wet and still had hair in it, the bath room floor was wet and the toilet was not clean and a lot of water was behind the toilet. I did complain to the desk cleark and they did offer to have someone come and clean the area but by that time my family and I had settled and was getting ready for a wedding and I did not want anyone in the room with all of my personal belongings.
