Good Value, Good Location
Easy to get to, good staff, nice room, in-town location so it is close to everything, good conceirge -- but a little judgemental -- dining not great but they do a nice breakfast and there are plenty of restaurants close enough to walk to.

Long walk from hotel
Hank's Seaford is just great -- not touristy and really good food. Try Hank's -- getting there is easy and there is ample municipal parking at the end of the street

Nice rooms and friendly staff
The Holiday Inn Charleston was very clean and comfortable. The parking was convenient and well lit. The concierge was very friendly and helpful. She highlighted a map of the area to show us the must see areas and also gave us coupons for the recommended tours. We will definitely visit them again.

Outstanding
Holiday Inn, Historic District, on Calhoun Street Stayed there for 8 days. could not have asked for anything more in the way of comfort, service or value. From the concierge, hotel wait staff, everything was the best. Hundreds of Hotels and motels in the Charleston area. All close or closer to the Historic district, but this was the best experience I have had.

exceptional staff
This hotel more than met our expectations. Very friendly and knowledgable staff. We took two tours recommended by the concierge and were extremely pleased with both. His dining suggestions also were excellent. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. We watched the friday night fireworks from the balcony off our room and met some very nice guests of the hotel while sitting in the rockers on the front porch. Would certainly stay here again when in Charleston.

Great couples location!
The hotel concierge, [...] assisted us with event planning during our visit. His suggestions were crucial to contributing to our great Charleston experience. He filled our time with tours, dining, live musical and a theatrical show, and general information about the area. I would recommend this HI (Historic Distric) to anyone visiting the area. A visit with [...], or his associate is a must!

4th stay here (have a child at CofC). I always have some issue (non-hotel related) and the Holiday Inn always seems to resolve it for me! Incredible concierge service.

Great Value in Charleston's Historic District
This hotel is located just north of the main historic district's 19th century homes. It's easily within walking distance of the best sights, shopping, and restaurants. The accommodations are very nice, and the price is about half of comparable places in the center of the older homes. The concierge was very helpful in recommending and securing reservations at several great restaurants.

Hank's is a great seafood place. A bit pricy, but worth it. Same goes for a place called Slightly North of Broad. Reservations are highly recommended.
